Would it be wrong?

Recommended Posts

My mom emailed me the other day saying that they visited my uncle at his new home in Longmont, Colorado. I'm not particularly close to this uncle...in fact, he hadn't met me until I was 15 and has only seen me once since then. Anyway, my mom said that they spent a few hours on his back porch watching skydivers come down since he lives that close to a DZ (I guess it would be Mile-hi, right?). I laughed thinking...hmmm...maybe it's time to pay Uncle M a visit to get to know him better. Would that be so bad? :)

Yep. Mile Hi Skydiving is in Longmont, Colorado. About 10-15 mins from Boulder, 30-40mins from Denver.... I just moved to Boulder from Longmont and I lived in a house with a deck and I could see every jump run, skydive, and some canopy action. It was a gift as well as a curse. Imagine hearing every jump run when you are not able to jump. Thats frustrating.....

You should definitely hit up this Uncle. It is a very active dropzone and a lot of fun...... If the Uncle thing doesn't work out I've got a couch and Im friendly to all skydivers!

I would call it being polite - and social. Therefore it would be rude not to.

Go and visit... and if you don't like you biological family you can always go visit you other family. Maybe you two can discuss why you guys have never been close.
