It's crap like this with Vista that makes me want to hang onto XP for as long as I possibly can. MS really dropped the ball with Vista... bastards...

MS is doing the complete opposite to what the car manufacture industry is doing.
Larger with more and more stupid ass functionality half stabile (at the very best) and charging us even more for the crap. :S

Hell if any car manufacturer would have bulit their product to the same standard they'd be sued out of the market in a blink of an eye..... >:(

Nope stay the FUCK away from this Vista SHIT and go for XP (if not a MAC). XP will be supported until 2014 and by that time they MIGHT have been able to produce something new useful.... B|

My advice is: Put a XP disc in your CD reader, reboot and install it... Don't forget to format all partitions during the installation, then you are home free :)

How do I do that?

Go to the search box in the start menu and type 'restore'.

It'll bring up a 'recommended' restore point that you can use, or you can select from other restore points.

Strongly recommend doing it from Safe Mode, though.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I have been using it at work for about 2 years now... I was very hesitant to move to it, but other than having to jump through hoops for some things I do I am happy to use Vista.

And I save the porn surfing for home :)

I think the problem is.. when the little Vista pop up comes up saying that some website wants to write something to your hard disk.. or something like that... and the little head takes over and says.. SURE.. why not.. I wanna see the naughty bits.... and voila...:ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

Well, now that you opened the door to Murphy, please make sure you tell us what happens when your OS sets your computer on fire...:o:D:):P
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Me neither...
I've not experienced major issues with MS XP/Vista.
And I like Vista better than XP.

I watch carefully what I download and what sites I visit.
I exclusively utilize PCTools software to protect my PC, I look closely at every prompt and regularly scan/clean my registry, defrag and maximize.
If I visit a site for the first time, I will run a full scan to see if I picked up any nasties.

While MS does have a bad rep...
Many forget to check for Updates/Patches.
And I think much is brought on by the users habits online, by their not understanding how to setup antivirus/etc software and not performing regular scans/maintenance.

AVG free download will check the website in advance for potential nasties.
Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

Hi Bigun,
my PCTools warns me about potentially harmful websites and I damned well don't visit'em.
But even if it is supposedly clean, I double check afterwards.
Just like skydiving, check your gear before and after...
How many people don't inspect their PC, bridle, main, lines & risers as they repack.
They go with a simple harness & pincheck jump after jump.

Same thing.
