Tuna-Salad 0 #1 October 5, 2008 http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=JwMlgc1saHs&feature=related I know a lot of this has to do with the wind speed but this guy stopped in less than a plane length. Pretty impressive.Millions of my potential children died on your daughters' face last night.

BikerBabe 0 #3 October 6, 2008 The twin otter is rated as a STOL aircraft, though those capabilities are rarely used, at least not in skydiving ops, heh. I once calculated the landing distance in standard atmospheric conditions to be somewhere around 750 ft. (no wind) they're also excellent for operations in austere conditions, which is why they were/are popular with many militaries. The US Air Force has 3 operational UV-18B Twin Otters, all of which are used by the USAFA parachute team, the Wings of Blue. It really is a neat airplane, if you delve a bit.Never meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup!

billvon 3,120 #5 October 6, 2008 Wow. Reminds me of watching the Porter take off out of the Lang. Took about 2-3 plane lengths.
auburnguy 0 #6 October 6, 2008 The Farms Otter (gregs) can haul some serious ass. Being in that thing on first load is always fun."If you don't like your job, you don't strike! grimmie 186 #7 October 6, 2008 Larry Hill took off in an Otter from the top of the Lang hill also. It looked like a carrier launch. it had hardly any fuel and only 3 people on board. One was Lil clutching to the dashboard.
warpedskydiver 0 #8 October 6, 2008 I saw some outstanding landings at SDC, one that stabnds out was while Rook, Rainbo and I were watching the Swoop Club competition. The damn thing came down so softly and stopped so short it was a vision to behold. It looked like a butterfly with sore feet. I bet it only rolled about two plane lengths. Woody was flying. Winds were very light
