BillyVance 35 #1 October 13, 2008 There's instances where broadband installs go wrong (maybe some crushed azaleas or a giant hole burned in your fence) - http://www.dslreports.com/shownews/86517 and then there's the install that goes very wrong, like a recent Comcast install in Woodstock, Georgia that resulted in a homeowner's home being flooded with raw sewage. An installer with Madison Communications managed to drill -- and run coax through -- a sewer line, causing an estimated $15,000-$16,000 in damages. airdvr 210 #3 October 13, 2008 In another life I was a cable installer. Many good stories. My best is I'm drilling from the outside near a picture window...drill bit pushes through...I see the curtains come down. Needless to say they weren't happy I worked with some real mensa candidates. One guy managed to get the cable caught on a guys car in the garage. Customer called and said the converter went flying across the room for no reason. Another genius decided it was safer to tie himself off to the car in the driveway while he was on the roof. That was bad. Customer's husband decided they needed milk and bread. Please don't dent the planet. Destinations by Roxanne
billeisele 130 #4 October 13, 2008 when they replaced the cable running down the street they cut a natural gas pipe, of course they cut it exactly where the gas company had marked the ground indicating that there was a pipe belowGive one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
Misternatural 0 #5 October 13, 2008 One day as an apprentice, whilest cutting an opening with a sawzall for an air conditioner at a very busy lumber yard company - I managed to cut a main electrical cable inside a wall- most of the lights went dead in the building and the place was filled with contractors-Awkward!!!Beware of the collateralizing and monetization of your desires. JohnMitchell 16 #6 October 13, 2008 Our neighbor had his cable run through the top part of a sewage pipe in the wall. Slow, part time leak ended up causing a bunch of dry rot and all. Cable company actually paid the damages several years after the fact. Those guys just blast through walls without any thought of what might be inside. I am sure he was trying his best, just as I'm sure the Cable Company will wipe all this clean.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun

I'm not advocating the actions, or saying that we must put the lid down on this at all, but am touting the reactions of the cable company. They have plunged into the fix head first.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
