livendive 8 #1 October 16, 2008 Somehow I'm skeptical of the explanation here. A small dummy projectile is dropped from 1700 feet, bounces seven to eight hundred feet horizontally, off a building and out into a highway where it goes through the hood of a semi. skydiver30960 0 #5 October 17, 2008 Bullshit. It's a cover-up. It's a conspiracy. It's completely improbable that this happened "by accident." (grin, snicker)The government MEANT for this to happen. There's no way this could have happened without Uncle Sam having a major hand in it. The intention is to destabilize the economy, to create fear in the American populace, and energize the American war machine for years to come. (chortle, snuff)It's a conspiracy, I say! happythoughts 0 #6 October 17, 2008 A metallic object might bounce pretty well if it hit a hard surface. Somebody in Florida was telling me about using bowling balls. You park a junk car on an abandoned road. Then, fly over in a Cessna and try to hit it with a bowling ball from 5-600 ft. If you miss, it bounces really well. If it hits, it does cool stuff. airtwardo 7 #8 October 17, 2008 Quote Now that's entertainment! Who in hell does shit like that? I dunno about airplanes, but we use to have late night 'Bowling for Buicks'... There was an old Buick Wildcat 'airport car' at a dz I worked for. Parked it at the end of the runway on the numbers, get my ole Pontiac up to about 110 and toss a bowling ball out the window. Amazing the morning after dents that Wildcat would show. ...gotta get on the brakes pretty hard cuz if ya get a solid 'strike', the friggin' ball comes back at ya about as fast as it got there! ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~

There's a great story that BrentFinley posted in the photography forum about documenting the world's largest rubber band drop out of the Skydive AZ skyvan... it's worth the search to read.
