Fitness Freaks.....

Recommended Posts

It has been awhile since anyone has posted anything so I thought I would!

I haven't lost a single pound! ok I have actually lost 3 and gained it back but then lost one more. Having said that I have lost inches...woohoo. My pants are getting loose and my belt is on the last hole, I need to punch some more!

One other thing I would like to share with the fitness freaks. Gyminee This is a pretty neat site for tracking both Diet and Exercise. The base site is free, however if you want to pay for the pro you have a few added benefits where you can schedule workouts and schedule meal plans. I decided to upgrade to the Pro to check it out ($15 for 3 months) and unless you are looking to do serious nutrition management the free is fine.

The one thing this site does is allow you to have fitness buddies, set up challenges or even set up groups. You can all work together to motivate each other on your progress. There is a blog function as well where you can keep a journal.

If anyone ends up joining and would like to add me as a buddy feel free to shoot me a PM.

If you're losing inches, but not pounds, that's good. That means that while your body fat % is lowering, your lean muscle mass is increasing.

I'm interested to hear what type of diet you are on. Is it maximizing your performance, or are you restricting your eating?

If you're restricting your eating, then I suggest taking up the Zone diet www.zonediet.com. You will be able to eat much more, eliminate your hunger cravings, and maximize workout performance, while further decreasing body fat, and increasing lean muscle mass.

Now, if you're restricting carbs, and balancing out your intake of carbohydrates, fat, and protein, then you're already on your way to the Zone.

Was a fitness freak, now I'm a Coastie. In all seriousness though, I don't work out much anymore. I've dropped my run to a 15-minute haul around the seawall on Rt. 127, haven't been swimming or biking in over a month, and only recently started getting into some lifting. It just seems that nobody here cares whether I stay in shape, and it's tough to kick people in the shins to get time to workout as a non-rate. Once I get qualified in another few days, maybe that will change, but I can't really be sure. Everytime I think things will be working out better, they always get worse. :S

I am doing a balance between carbs/protein/fat. It took a little bit of adjusting the levels to what worked for me. I originally cut WAY back on carbs to find out it was too much. Right now I am at a pretty good balance for what works for my body to give me fuel.

I seem to have a problem not eating enough calories though. I am doing much better at grabbing the banana's, apples and other fruit through out the day to add more. I also am supplementing my protein/carb intake with EAS Myoplex shakes too. I am probably going to have to bump up my protein intake with powder as I keep running under 10-15grams a day.

I will allow myself to be bad once in awhile. Which is making this so much easier. To be honest it is soo much cheaper eating healthy too!

Good news on the job front. I qualified first time as a 47-ft MLB crewman, so things are going to start settling down here in the very near future. I think I lost about half of whatever patience and kindness I had left in my heart from all the bullshit I had to deal with getting to this point, but at least I've still got a heart. It might be a black one before long, but maybe it'll hold off at least until I find someone stubborn enough to marry me. Oh yeah, as for fitness, still not able to spare the time, and with a bunch of new rookies coming up the pipe as MLB crewmen, I've got to spend my time training them now. I'm going to force myself to take time for fitness, but not sure how much. Just as I suspected, work is more important.
