kbordson 8 #1 October 20, 2008 OK... so who was watching the Buccaneers v. Seahawks game? Hilliard took a SERIOUSLY hard hit. I was honestly thinking - "He's not going to get up"

billeisele 130 #4 October 20, 2008 With all the padding they wear a Truck would not hurt them. padding is great until you get hit where its not a high school QB had his femur snapped in a pile up in a game on Friday - really cool if you like compound fractures a running back at SC took a huge hit from an LSU linebacker and was knocked out cold for 5 seconds, he just went limp and of course dropped the ballGive one city to the thugs so they can all live together. I vote for Chicago where they have strict gun laws.
kbordson 8 #5 October 20, 2008 Here's the hit I was quite surprised when he was actually up after 5min. I thought there was going to be some spinal cord injury, considering the rotational effect and the force. And while he was down, it almost looked like he was posturing.... BillyVance 35 #6 October 20, 2008 I remember the hit an LSU player laid on an Auburn ball carrier a couple years ago, knocked him flat out cold, and he was one of Auburn's toughest players. Much more high impact and impressive than Hilliard's hit."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban

PLFKING 4 #8 October 20, 2008 Biggest hit I ever saw was on a kickoff return in a Nebraska - Oklahoma game circa early 70s. Or when Earl Campbell hit Bevo so hard it knocked down one of its handlers standing on the opposite side. Don"When in doubt I whip it out, I got me a rock-and-roll band. It's a free-for-all." American football is nothing in comparison to Rugby. Now, Rugby, that's a sport!
lawrocket 3 #10 October 21, 2008 The hardest hit I remember seeing was about 15 years ago. Mike Harden of the Broncos launched headfirst at Steve Largent of the Seahawks and I believe separated some of Largent's teeth from his mouth in addition to knocking him the fuck out. True violence. And an illegal hit. Later that year, they had a rematch on Monday Night Football. Harden intercepted a pass and was running it back. He didn't notice Largent, but Largent noticed him. Largent fuckin' BURIED him. Shoulder to the gut. And Largent recovered the fumble. Here's the video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0un51WFVrUI&feature=related You'll notice that Harden flew about 4 yards before landing. Perhaps my favorite. OF course, if you wanna see real mayhem, check out any kickoff. Don't focus on the runner. Look at the wedge. I used to call them "snot bubblers." I myself have been hit so hard my snot bubbled out. lawrocket 3 #11 October 21, 2008 They are different. I played both. What is a normal hit in football is illegal in rugby. Football is a game of yardage and rugby is a game of possession. So while you tackle in rugby, you don't really "hit" like in football. Aside - I've seen two football players fracture orbits playing rugby. A solid tackle in football with a facemask doesn't translate to facemaskless rugby very well. Both are just different versions of violence. (I never ended up a bloody mess after a football game. I got a good stomping many times in rugby. Nothing bleeds like a cleat to the head). My wife is hotter than your wife.

Sorry dude but if you think that Rugby (league and Union) dont have HITS you have NOT been watching, or playing the game properlyhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XqG70LdCPYA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ptpA5D-Rx-UYou are not now, nor will you ever be, good enough to not die in this sport (Sparky) My Life ROCKS! lawrocket 3 #13 October 21, 2008 Oh, it had hits. And penalties associated with it. I quit paying rugby because my ACL (and liver) couldn't handle it. My wife is hotter than your wife.
BillyVance 35 #14 October 22, 2008 I think the best example of a runaway train was when Bo Jackson of the L.A. Raiders ran over linebacker Brian Bosworth of the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football in 1987. I tried, but couldn't find a video clip of it. The Boz was never the same again."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
