1922 silent film: Nosferatu

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else seen this?

I thought it was much better than the 1930s American sound film, Dracula, starring Bela Lugosi. I was disappointed with how they handled the final scene in the American film.

Nosferatu was a German Expressionist film starring Max Schreck as the Vampire Count Orlok. It was based loosely on Bram Stoker's Dracula, but for licensing reasons they couldn't use that name.

Anyway, the local theater in my town will show this film on Thursday evening, and they have the original Wurlitzer organ that was installed in this theater back in the 1920s. So there will be a live organist doing the background music, just as it was back in the '20s.

Anyway, I love this movie.

If you like old silent films, this is DEFINITELY one to check out!
