old parachute needed

I am doing a project where I am building a large body that kids will be interacting in. I am making the head large enough that 15 kids can stand inside it and a large round material. It is for the Great American Smokeout. The whole thing is being made to help kids understand what smoking does to your body. I was hoping to get an old parachute to cover the head with. I'm willing to pay the shipping on it and might be able to even give a little something for it. This is an item that would not be returned as I will be painting a face on it. I have a 12 ft x 12 ft area to cover. If you can help me that would be great.

I got to tell you that I would be surprised if anyone sent you an old parachute for free.

Primarily because of the legal concerns. If you use it for some stupid stunt and hurt yourself or someone else there's a chance the of it reflecting poorly on our sport.

Try checking some Army/Navy surplus stores. There's one in my area that has a few T-10 types for sale cheap (30-40 USD), to be used as car covers, shade devices, etc... all are UN-airworthy and have had the lines cut off at the skirt.
