slotperfect 7 #1 November 3, 2008 Tonight I have been jamming to early Santana (first three albums) through headphones. I have always loved those three Santana albums in particular, and until now I thought the latin rhythms were mostly responsible. Tonight I have gained a new appreciation for Gregg Rolie's skills on the B3 . . . the man is a jam fanatic! That has always been one of my favorite instruments. He is still touring with fellow Santana co-founder Michael Carabello and Adrian Arias (son of Chepito from the original Santana band). I topped it all off by watching the Santana performance from the Woodstock DVD -Soul Sacrifice - Michael Shreve is the BOMB! Then I downloaded an album called Abraxas Pool, which features several early Santana members to listen to tomorrow. I loves me some old Santana!Arrive Safely John
DSE 5 #2 November 3, 2008 Come out to Utah sometime...you can play on one of Gregg's old B3's! He's an amazing keyboardist, no doubt. Glad he didn't stick with Journey for *too* long. If you get the chance, listen to his solo "Roots." It's a mostly great listen.
slotperfect 7 #3 November 3, 2008 I have been listening to pieces of it from his website just now. I like what I hear - latin rhythms all over again.Arrive Safely John
jsaxton 0 #4 November 3, 2008 If you like Greg with Santana take a close listen to the Caversari (sp?) album.
slotperfect 7 #5 November 3, 2008 Caravanserai . . . I don't own that one because it was Carlos Santana's detour to his jazz fusion period. I should pick it up though . . . it may broaden my horizons a bit! Arrive Safely John
