lindell 0 #1 November 17, 2005 I am looking at buying a javelin c-17 size rig, the person that owns it is 6'3, 185lbs and I am 5'10, 185lbs. Would this rig fit me as well ?
councilman24 37 #2 November 17, 2005 Make sure the rig hasn't been resized from the factory size. It's hard to imagine a C-17 fitting 6'3". I'm 5'11" and 210lb and usually would expect to wear a C18. I would expect that a C17 would fit you and not the current owner. If it truely fits him I wouldn't expect it to fit you, 5" shorter.I'm old for my age. GravityGirl 0 #3 November 18, 2005 It will likely be a bit long in the harness. They yoke may be correct. Best bet is to go download the order form, PM me or someone that can help you determine what your harness size is based on your measurements. Then ask the seller the size of the Main Lift Web and Yoke. EX: C19, B16, A14, etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peace and Blue Skies! Bonnie ==>Gravity Gear! bob.dino 1 #4 November 18, 2005 Many tall people have most of their height in their legs. I'm 6'3" and can happily wear the rigs of many people shorter than 5'11". I know three people who can all share the same rig. They're 5'2", 5'10", and 6'8".

TaylorC 0 #6 November 18, 2005 i used to own a C-16 javelin and i am 6'2 175 pounds and the thing fit me perfectly. Really comes down to body shape and how long your torso and legs are.
johnny1488 1 #7 November 18, 2005 I would get the serial number and contact SunPath. SunPath does not include the lenght of the lateral (the webbing that conects the main lift web to the container) in the harness size. That measurement can have a very big effect on whether the rig fits you or not. Johnny --"This ain't no book club, we're all gonna die!" I really find this hard to believe, but am receptive to more information.Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard. At 5'10 with a 30.5" inseam it would be a couple inches short for me. Height (in inches) - inseam - 20 is a reasonable approximation.
labrys 0 #12 November 26, 2006 I can only share my own experience and not offer advice about the fit but: I'm 160 and 5'10 and I jumped a Javelin with a C-17 harness for about 200 jumps. The rig seemed to fit fairly well but was a little long. That didn't bug me too much until I had a cutaway and my reserve handle ended up next to my jaw under my ear. I ordered a rig sized to fit me. It's no fun losing track of the silver handle when you really want to pull it. Edit: Right after I posted that I had a nagging feeling that the harness was a C-19, not C-17 so I looked back at some paperwork I had and realized I was indeed wrong. My rig was not a C-17, sorry.Owned by Remi #?
