SarahC07 0 #1 November 8, 2008 Welp, I did it. I had knee surgery this morning for a partially torn patellar tendon and chondromalacia petalla. 50/50 chance of improving my situation. Doc had to make a 2 inch incision just below the knee cap. I'm maxed out on my pain meds, still in pain and on crutches for at least the next week. 3 months of down time before I can even consider any high impact activities (my activity of choice - running); only 6 weeks before i can give low impact activities a try. AND I'm already BORED. Help Please help.

SuFantasma 0 #4 November 11, 2008 Congratulations on taking the first steps to getting yourself back to health.... From my previous experience with back surgery, go easy on the pain meds (especially when it comes to having alcohol with them)... SarahC07 0 #6 November 11, 2008 Sadly, I'm not currently jumping. Some where in my recent transition to adulthood, I realized how much money I was wasting on jumping, so I stopped. If I had twice as much disposable income, I might be jumping. But alas, I do not - such is life, I suppose.

In 2007 I spent about 8k on jumping and related costs (video gear and so on) and it was so worth it!!!!!(I might add that I'm so far away from being able to do paid video but I only jump it for MY amusement)“The sum of intelligence on the planet is a constant; the population is growing.” - George Bernard Shaw He who dies with the most toys, wins..... dudeist skydiver # 19515 Buy quality and cry once! Pokerstar 0 #8 November 11, 2008 Speedy recovery! I'll be convalescing the rest of the week too (having my lap band replaced mid morning, leaving for hospital soon) so if you want someone to harass, feel free! I'll be home and on line wednesday afternoon! :) Feel Better!Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber. --- The Dude ---
karenmeal 0 #9 November 11, 2008 Hey! I think I've had that same (or a very similiar) surgery! Now that knee is my strong knee! This is a good time to pick up some low key hobbies that you can handle on the couch. Knitting, painting, putting together puzzles, playing poker, popping pills... Good luck with recovery. My recovery wasn't horrible, I worked very hard at PT and was back to jumping 6 weeks post-surgery with the encouragement of my PT! -Karen "Life is a temporary victory over the causes which induce death." - Sylvester Graham
