grannyinthesky 0 #30 October 7, 2008 Thanks. I've had a remarkable year and am already thinking about where to go this winter. I'll jump here in frigid Idaho when I get the chance, of course, but I'm thinking something warmer would be nice on occasion. Maybe Eloy in Dec/Jan and then I'd sorta like to head to the Lodi/Davis area in March."safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!! IIRC, some DZs required a D license for beach jumps. Other than that, you should be fine. However, there are swamps near some of the DZs though. Lake Wales and Sebastain have gators right next door. Hell, when I visited Lake Wales, they had baby gators living in the swoop pond! lauraliscious 0 #42 October 7, 2008 And here I thought my #'s were pretty good, with 27 DZ's in 14 states. You have me beat by a long shot! That's awesome. 100 DZ's is a noble goal. I just hope I can surpass 50 one day. 50 DZ's and 50 states, that would rock. Oh yeah, does it count as 1 or 2 if you jump at the same DZ but in a different location? Same owners/plane, but the DZ switched airports? I might add a new one to my #'s this weekend...Tennessee's newest DZ. I already had a brief encounter with one of those at West Plains in Ritzville, WA. I had turned on to final when one came through and boosted me up an extra hundred feet or so. I then had a choice of landing INTO buildings or onto pavement. I went for the pavement. I can PLF about anywhere. "safety first... and What the hell..... safety second, Too!!!
