Thanks. I've had a remarkable year and am already thinking about where to go this winter. I'll jump here in frigid Idaho when I get the chance, of course, but I'm thinking something warmer would be nice on occasion. Maybe Eloy in Dec/Jan and then I'd sorta like to head to the Lodi/Davis area in March.

Ohhhhhhh, I think I may have to start looking at air fare to Florida.

OH, I just had a though. How close is the ocean? My accuracy is getting better, but it's one thing to land out in a field and another in the Atlantic. But, wait, would that count as my water training for my B?

IIRC, some DZs required a D license for beach jumps. Other than that, you should be fine. However, there are swamps near some of the DZs though. Lake Wales and Sebastain have gators right next door. :P Hell, when I visited Lake Wales, they had baby gators living in the swoop pond! :D

I don't want to land on the beach or anywhere near it, especially in the ocean. And, uh, gators???????? Maybe Eloy is a better idea than I thought.

Wow, that's a lot of DZs represented. But um, have any of you people ever been to Raeford? Come on out and see us some time! We East coasters don't bite. Usually.

Yep, did Raeford last year.

Dropzones

K-State Parachute Club - Wamego, KS
Skydive Tecumseh - Tecumseh, MI
Perris - Perris, CA
Start Skydiving - Lebanon, OH
Raeford - Raeford, NC
Skydive Arizona - Eloy, AZ
Skydive City - Z-Hills, FL
Dublin Boogie - Dublin, GA
WFFC - Rantoul, IL
Chicagoland Skydiving - Hinckley, IL
Skydive Chicago - Ottawa, IL
Merillat Airport - Tecumseh, MI (we jump into this one often enough that I'm counting it as a dz)
and a few non-dz type airports for demos

Aircraft

182 (regular and widebody)
Caravan (regular and grand)
Otter
King Air
Beech 99
Pac 750
Allouette II
Balloon
Skyvan
Casa
C-130J

So pretty much just all the usual suspects.

And here I thought my #'s were pretty good, with 27 DZ's in 14 states. You have me beat by a long shot! :oB| That's awesome. 100 DZ's is a noble goal. I just hope I can surpass 50 one day. 50 DZ's and 50 states, that would rock. :)
Oh yeah, does it count as 1 or 2 if you jump at the same DZ but in a different location? Same owners/plane, but the DZ switched airports?

I might add a new one to my #'s this weekend...Tennessee's newest DZ. ;)B|

Eloy has its own problems that you have to watch out for. Namely... dust devils. ;)

Wonderful. [:/] I already had a brief encounter with one of those at West Plains in Ritzville, WA. I had turned on to final when one came through and boosted me up an extra hundred feet or so. I then had a choice of landing INTO buildings or onto pavement. I went for the pavement. I can PLF about anywhere. :)
