skymama 37 #5 November 25, 2008 I like decorating for Christmas and have a ton of stuff to put up, but I have to say I think the inflatable yard decorations are the worst! I especially hate the Thomas the Tank Engine one that is already up in my neighborhood. WTF? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Now taking donations for the "let's cover skymamas yard with inflatable decorations". anyone have an Antonio Banderas life size we can toss in there? I worked retail for many an xmas and it tooks it toll on me. Ever since I don't do that shiz anymore I went more and more down hill. This year I'm off to visit my brother who just moved to a new town. The plus is that it's next to some awesome skiing, and close to people I hardly ever see. I'm wondering what type of crowd I'll encounter flying on xmas day? Should be interesting. edit: I can't spell for shiz these days.Skymama's #2 stalker -
ladydyver 0 #7 November 25, 2008 I usually work thanksgiving and either christmas eve or day...just depends on what we have going on. I do tend to decorate although I don't think I will this year ---- even the kids were saying "no" to a tree. One annual tradition is making candy with the kids...anything from almond roca to truffles....it usually is a 2 day event. We invite friends over break out the wine and spend the day making goodies. DPH # 2 "I am not sure what you are suppose to do with that, but I don't think it is suppose to flop around like that." ~Skootz~ I have a strong regard for the rules.......doc! Cornholio 0 #13 November 25, 2008 I just found out today that my company is instituting a 7 day mandatory PTO for all employees during the Holiday period. So that basically means that for the first time in 5 years, I'll have a work break from Dec 20-Jan4. Not sure what to do yet, but the Eloy Boogie did come to mind. Butthead: Whoa! Not quite sure what a PTO is but I'm being forced into a 3 week "furlough" (stupid word - but that's what they're calling it) and as a contractor it's UNPAID (.)Y(.) AggieDave 6 #19 November 25, 2008 A PTO is typically found on tractors and other farm equipment, although some early post-war Jeeps had them available and I think that the early Jeep based Land Rovers had them as well. Its a Power Transfer Output and is used to power various farm implements. Honestly, I thought everyone knew that. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Its a Power Transfer Output and is used to power various farm implements. Honestly, I thought everyone knew that. I always thought PTO in that syntax meant Power Take-Off. Same principle that you described though. Most dump trucks have one so that it powers the bed for dumping. And yes, PTO in my post meant Paid Time Off. It's not as bad as unpaid time off, but still bad that the company is forcing it upon about 50,000 employees. But if it saves jobs and prevents a RIF (Reduction in force or Layoff) for some time, then I'm ok with it. Plus I have aobut 220 hours banked in PTO, so losing 48 + 8 hours floating holiday isn't too bad. I really feel for the people that don't have that much PTO or nothing. They go negative for 5 days max and then the other two days are unpaid. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! shropshire 0 #24 November 26, 2008 QuoteWho said anything about "Christmas"... he said "The Holidays" Exactly - the OP should have been more acccurate as to which holidays he was asking about. For my summer holiday - I want sun tan lotion, For my spring holiday - I sky dive, so I want jump tickets. For my winter holidays - I go skiing and just need warm undies. So which holidays does he want us to talk about? (.)Y(.) Chivalry is not dead; it only sleeps for want of work to do. - Jerome K Jerome
