Holy cow, I thought it was funny when a guy with two jumps was telling me how dangerous I am and how I should and shouldn't do AFF, but this takes it to a whole new level! :D I rarely venture into the topical forums, and when I do, it's usually just for a different flavor of entertainment. :D

GeeBus Freakin Crimininy.......what the hell would some guy with 23000 jumps know about taking grips...:S

But he learned back in the old days. These, however, are the new days, and they've passed new laws of physics.

Well, I disagree with Kirk also.. it's obvious from the last couple of boogies I've been to that one should dive from 30 feet above the formation and snatch my grip with the almighty intensity as if their life depended on it and my shoulder did not. >:(

Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

I think part of the problem is the fake numbers people use coupled with he probably has no idea who Kirk is :ph34r::ph34r::ph34r::ph34r:

Figured the 23000 was fake ;)

Yes, plus how often do we tell novice skydivers to not reach? To "reach up" sounds even crazier to them.

There are so many things that we try to drill into the heads of students, and then later contradict them, no wonder it is difficult to learn to skydive.

I think most of them dont even bother to look at that part of the post they are replying to;) Being too new at the sport... they do not have the name recognition to realize just how fucking entertaining they are actually being.

Ah yes... the infamous SCR TopDock technique.

Float gently down to 4ft above the formation, turn sideways, reach down, and backpack at least two others.

It was always good on the re-build 400ft lower too.

I agree with you. A pretty common problem for a novice skydiver is getting a little over amped and reaching for grips and either trashing the formation or ending up too low or too high. I know I've done it and I've seen plenty of "experienced" skydivers who should know better doing the exact same thing.

Don was trying to help and aside from the fact that he contradicted a world champion, his advice wasn't that bad. You guys are harsh!

Yes, but the responses to Kirk's post show there are other ways to challenge another poster. Given a choice of taking Tara's approach (I've never heard that before can you explain more) or Don's (No no no you're wrong!!!!!!) I'll take Tara's any day! [Laugh]

Just had to highlight it as an example.
It's still funny.

Why thank you:P

Although I wasn't challenging him, just wanted to know his thought process of saying that.
