Tell Me Something I Don't Know...

Recommended Posts

Specifically, why some national companies, businesses, programs and/or organizations have exceptions for residents of a specific or a couple specific states.

I wanted to enter to win Ellen's 12 Days of Giveaways and it seems all Florida residents are eligible for is $1k.

I don't get it. :(

It's not the organizations... it's the varying State laws.

I mean I always see Texas excluded, but that's self-explanatory. :P

This is the first I've read about FL. (I always read the rules before entering any sort of sweepstakes, giveaway or contest.)

What a bummer! :(

Edit: Yea, I think that's pretty fucked up I can't win all thirteen days of Ellen's 12 Days of Giveaways. >:(

:P

The Peoples Republic of Florida have very strict rules and laws about many things, contests, insurance, extended warranties, etc. This is due in part to so many people scumbags preying on the elderly.

For many years, Applecare was not available in Florida
Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber.

And the Federal government has the monopoly on Ponzi schemes, but they call it "social security".[:/]
