airdvr 210 #1 December 7, 2008 Somehow I'm getting spam from myself. The e-mails come to me and are from my e-mail addy. My ISP has been no help. Yesterday, on a whim I went in and changed my password hoping this would make it stop. No help. How can this be happening? What can I do?Please don't dent the planet. CSpenceFLY 1 #2 December 7, 2008 Someone "spoofed" your account. Basically copied your account to send out spam. Nothing you can do. It will stop in a couple of weeks.
ifall 0 #3 December 7, 2008 You're email address has been spoofed. It happens quite a bit. Especially in big companies. There is not much you can do about it. Is this your personal email address? Here's some info on spoofing. http://www.cert.org/tech_tips/email_spoofing.html edit: oops, spence beat me to it.
CSpenceFLY 1 #4 December 7, 2008 The only reason I know that is it happened to me once. I got about 100 emails a day returned to my account.
LOSTandCRAZY 0 #5 December 7, 2008 Lol. Yeah, I once set up a spam bot to spam my English boss (from the UK, English) with 1776 emails having "1776" in the subject line on July 4th. It was quite satisfying."Get these balls!"
TheBachelor 5 #6 December 8, 2008 This will happen again and again. If you can block email addresses, just block emails from yourself. There are battered women? I've been eating 'em plain all of these years...
