The snow stuck for several days because it had been so cold. Houston was completely unequipped to handle it. And the guys in one of the dorms built a snow hermaphrodite Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)

labrys 0 #30 December 12, 2008 QuoteI did stop in a nice big parking lot on the way home for about 30 minutes of donuts and showing her how to regain control in a spinning car... she did well too... after about 15 minutes I had her drifting in figure 8's around light poles :) That's just how I learned to drive in snow. A friend of mine suggested it the first winter in lived in a snowy place. I grew up in Georgia and didn't have a clue.... We went to a mall parking lot on a Sunday night and did endless slide / drift / spin recoveries. It not only teaches you what the limits of the car are, it teaches you how to make the best of misjudging the surface.Owned by Remi #?

THAT's why it was such a big deal. It may be nothing more than "frost" to many of you, but here in Houston it's an extremely rare freak of weather. Yoshi 0 #33 December 12, 2008 yeah...practicing in a parking lot does help to learn the limits of your car.... Im not sure about the legality of it though... a cop did pull up into the parking lot as I was doing 360 after 360 and I drove up to him... he rolled down his window and was like "You Lost?!?" I said nah..just teaching my fiance here how to drive in snow...we just moved here from Houston... he just nodded and drove off.. I thought that was pretty cool. I think he thought I was some high school kid at first... _________________________________________ this space for rent.
