diablopilot 2 #2 December 15, 2008 I've caught bits of your predicament in the various forums and I have to say, good luck, and it's heartbreaking if you're prevented from doing what you love. Pokerstar 0 #3 December 15, 2008 Just ask questions. If they are your lawyers, make sure they are on the same page as you, and know as much as humanly possible. If they start talking 'legal' on you, just tell them they have to talk regular english. If they are her lawyers, tell them as little as possible, and make sure they are not speaking lawyer to you also. Good luck. NWFlyer 2 #5 December 15, 2008 What pokerstar said. Ask a lot of questions, and if you don't feel comfortable with the answers, stand your ground till you get things explained in something other than "lawyer." You don't need to be an asshole about it, just be firm. I was involved in a personal injury claim about five years ago and had to do that with my attorney a lot - get her to slow down and explain things to me in layman's terms, and at times I had to request a higher level of communication so I could be comfortable that things were continuing to move forward. No need to set up an adversarial relationship, of course, but just be sure that your needs are met."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. O'Rourke

porpoishead 8 #7 December 15, 2008 right on Krisanne. it really is an open and shut case. I think the lawyers are going to be there pretty much just to mediate and protect the interest of their perspective parties. they might interpret a thing or two as well gonna be a fucked up feeling in that room with all the people that will be in attendance. I put my life and the life of my team at risk everyday day in and day out, and made a lot of very wealthy men. gonna be pretty interesting to see people who have trusted their lives to each other for so long change right before my eyes. guess I will know who my brothers really were tomorrow.if you want a friend feed any animal Perry Farrell
Pokerstar 0 #8 December 15, 2008 Ah, still, ask the questions, and one thing I found VERY useful, was taking my time answering the questions. Think about the questions, if it was asked by your lawyer or the companies. You'll be fine! Cheers!Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber. --- The Dude ---

mnealtx 0 #11 December 15, 2008 I hear ya bro, but you may pick up on something the lawyer misses, ya know? This way, you can make a quick note then pull the lawyer off to the side and discuss it with him.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. wolfriverjoe 1,523 #15 December 16, 2008 QuoteGood luck, dude. Bring a notebook, so you can write down key points. +1 Unless the lawyers are divers too, you might notice something important that they wouldn't understand. Also, you will probably have some questions for your lawyers that you won't want to ask in front of the other side. Don't trust to memory. Good luck with all of it. If you are deposed by the other side, be sure to talk to your lawyers AT LENGTH before it happens. If you are deposed, do NOT 'give' info. Answer questions with the shortest possible answer. lawrocket 3 #20 December 16, 2008 If I never see a courtroom again it'll be too soon for me. If it gets there, people aren't doing their jobs. And all it takes is one. I've been there with an unreasonable client. I've got my line, "if we go to trial, my kids go to college. If we don't, then you'll get the same thing I can get at trial and you'll keep a lot more." I wish you success. My wife is hotter than your wife.
