Chicago Ice Storm

Ok, so the weathermen have been going on and on about this storm that is suppose to hit Chicago. It just now barely started snowing where I am at.

13" of snow? or up to 1/2" of ice?? I just don't think it is going to happen!

Ok I am being unrealistically optimistic. I am working an overnight tonight and really do not want to have to move that much snow/Ice off of my car in the morning.

They have been wrong before, hopefully they are wrong tonight.

Any other Chicagoan's seeing anything significant by them?

Just north of Wrigley field here - snowing at a decent clip...i could believe 5 or so inches if it continues like this all night but it's not as hard as it was coming down the other night.

I was looking at the costs of renting an apartment in other parts of the country.....and I concluded 3 things.

!) We get too much shit weather here

2) Chicago is too damn expensive!

3 I need to move!

It's ice now, with a couple of inches of snow under it. I think I might have to go clean off my car now so the mess is not "As" bad as it could be at 7am

My heart bleeds while we are digging out of our 30+ inches in spokane. At least we don't have an ice storm though.

I would take the snow over ice anyday! I just went and scraped the first layer of ice/snow off my car. The stuff coming down now is small ice pellets. FUN FUN FUN.

I am hoping the roads are not too horrible when I get off at 7, but I am very glad I go opposite of morning traffic!

You can keep that crap. They're predicting similar stuff for us in Western PA. It hasn't started yet but they're saying by Monday we should have a decent amount of snow/ice.

It started snowing here in Arlington Heights at 11pm and switched to ice shortly after. Still raining ice but I'm hoping the roads are ok at 09:30 so I can go home.

Here in Minneapolis we get your weather half a day before you,a nd they were predicting ass-loads of snow last night and today, but we only got an inch or 2 last night and its blue skies right now.
