maybe he's not attracted to female names...:P
Some people refrain from beating a dead horse. Personally, I find a myriad of entertainment value when beating it until it becomes a horse-smoothie.

We don't choose our names. Our parents give them to us.

Finding someone unattractive because of their name is rude and shallow.

Fail at life because of their name?? Sheesh. :S

Yes, but you can always change it.

At some BS company diversity training I had to go to a year or so ago, we talked about this. I can't find the particular material, but we learned about some professors who did some research where they sent identical highly qualified (but made up) resumes to several companies that had posted job listings. The only difference was that some resumes used names that were highly ethnic and difficult to pronounce. They did this with enough resumes to eliminate most random chance and variation in responses. The simply truth was that people who had more common, pleasant and familiar names got more call backs from employers.:|

So, you might not fail at life with a weird name, but be prepared for a more uphill battle.

Additionally, I was told flat out that being a domestic applicant is an advantage when applying to a graduate school program that is dominated by foreign applicants.

I remember that, though i thought it was something i had seen on 20/20 or dateline. But yeah, it confirmed that names do make a difference.
