Icon134 0 #3 May 29, 2007 Thanks, one of the things that I find really neat about using a macro lens is that the photographed flower is only about 1 inch in diameter. and its not perfect I didn't have quite enough light to get the depth of field that I would have liked... I really should have gotten my flash out... Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...

Stumpy 284 #14 May 29, 2007 Incidentally - how did you blur the green plants behind and to the right? was that done purely with depth of field or with a little PS as well? Fantastic shot.Never try to eat more than you can lift

boinky 0 #16 May 29, 2007 Can I play this game too? Pretty please? The first two were taken with a Canon Powershot S1. I was just playing around with the F-stop settings. The first shot became grainy when I adjusted it to post. The second two were taken with a Canon Rebel XT. I can't remember what the settings were. Icon134 0 #20 May 29, 2007 QuoteBeautiful. What camera? What lens?I have a Digital Rebel XT and am shooting with a Tamaron 90mm f/2.8 Macro lens (which is an awesome lens). I believe the settings for the photo were: ISO 200, Shutter speed of 1/100s (or so) f/18 I handheld the camera... Behind the flowers there are some evergreen type bushes and they are well outside the depth of field. Also the backdrop is dark because the area adjecent to the bushes is in the shade... the photo was taken with ambient light (it was about 4-5 in the afternoon) and sunny... Great stuff by everyone else though...Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
Icon134 0 #21 May 29, 2007 QuoteIncidentally - how did you blur the green plants behind and to the right? was that done purely with depth of field or with a little PS as well? Fantastic shot.purely with depth of field it is a bush well behind the flowers... (like 2-3 feet) the depth of field is probably only about 3-6 inches for this photograph if that.Livin' on the Edge... sleeping with my rigger's wife...
