denete 3 #27 December 22, 2008 Nah, hang on to your retirement as long as you can. I've had these kinds of dreams for the past year and a half. Often about people that I barely know. Only a couple have involved recreational nudity. Prior to this one, the weirdest was one guy getting into a wrap really low and even though we were all yelling to not do it, he did a canopy transfer at about 100 feet. But that has now been beat. This one was just plain weird though. I didn't know who had bounced until someone told me at her memorial jump (dream begins here). They pointed out the pattern on her canopy and said that she always jumped one of two canopies. It was either a canopy with the pattern in front of me (laid out on the ground in a clearing) or some other pattern. Just to make it more like a normal dream, the memorial jump was being done into my parents' backyard. A yard that has zero approach lanes and nothing but 50+ foot tall pine trees everywhere. So there is the canopy of the deceased, a limping jumper is nearby, and all of a sudden in through the trees drops Joey Day...I mean like a rock. He didn't get up before the dream transitioned to me hanging on the outside of a car that was going really fast down the highway and I couldn't get the driver to stop or open a window to let me in. I think I was naked or just wearing my underwear. It's like Mitch Hedberg said, "I hate dreaming. Because when you sleep, you wanna sleep. Dreaming is work, you know - there I am in a comfortable bed, the next thing you know I have to build a go-kart with my ex-landlord. I want a dream of me watching myself sleep." I wouldn't mind telling Joey about the dream because I can already hear his response in my head. The other person is the one that made me think twice. I even woke up early and checked the incidents forum just in case.SCR #14809 "our attitude is the thing most capable of keeping us safe" (look, grab, look, grab, peel, punch, punch, arch)
skittles_of_SDC 0 #28 December 22, 2008 This thread caused me to have a dream where I almost bounced last night. I hope and kind of know I wouldn't do things the same in real life as I did in the dream. Scared me just the same though.
livendive 8 #29 December 22, 2008 Along those lines, if it's someone you like and they're wondering why you're pissed at them, it's ok to tell them you had a dream they hooked in and they BETTER NOT DO THAT! ACMESkydiver 0 #30 December 24, 2008 Quote If that scares people maybe they shouldn't be jumping. I wouldn't tell someone if I dreamed they had died in a car crash, either. So then 'Maybe they shouldn't be driving if that scares them?' I'm just sayin' there is no point to the conversation accept to attempt to scare a person. That in and of itself is a pretty immature thing to do, in my point of view...~Jaye Do not believe that possibly you can escape the reward of your action. DrewEckhardt 0 #32 December 24, 2008 QuoteIs it bad form to tell someone else that you had a bounce dream about them? Only if they're not doing anything stupid that would lead them to bounce in real life. When your friends are being stupid, you need to give them grief about it and hope they'll have a minor incident which causes them to listen to you before something really bad happens. Dude, I had this dream where you were pulling low like you usually do except in my dream you bounced....
tbrown 26 #33 December 24, 2008 Quote Quote I'm not sure I'd want to jump with someone who told me something like that. Here's another way of looking at it - would you tell someone you had a dream about fucking them ? Maybe. Especially if they're a total hottie and single (no drama). Yeah, but you're a young hottie. I'm a middle aged married guy. You're from Venus, I'm from Mars.... Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity !
