daniel_owen_uk 0 #1 October 26, 2005 Ok as you can see (jump number) complete newb. Just done some tunnel time in bedford so am thinking about nothing but jumping at the moment. Going to zhills in a couple of weeks to do AFF and hopefully get my A licence. Now I spotted that tonysuits is on site, would it be too early to buy one out there? Obviously you have to pick your discipline before choosing a suit and I will talk to my instructors. Just wondering really.__________________ BOOM Headshot

daniel_owen_uk 0 #3 October 26, 2005 Yeah I read that first, was just after a few opinions really, people that bought early and regretted it with reasons why, people that bought early and were glad they did etc etc.__________________ BOOM Headshot

It arrived shortly after I got my A license. Put 500 jumps on it. Only regret is I wish I'd known how a suit was supposed to fit back then; can't believe I put that many jumps on a suit that pinched my armpits regardless of what I wore under it. I'd suggest getting a suit as soon as you're sure you're going to stick with the sport. It's much easier to find rental rigs that fit than it is to find rental/borrowed suits that fit. Feeblemind 1 #5 October 26, 2005 There are other manufacturers than Tony Suits. I have a Flitesuit and wuld not trade it for the world! Fire Safety Tip: Don't fry bacon while naked
daniel_owen_uk 0 #6 October 26, 2005 Oh I know, I looked at symbiosis (as its UK based), but fact is I am gonna be in Z-Hills so I could have it properly measured, and the exchange rate is pretty decent so it would be a good deal.__________________ BOOM Headshot
flyangel2 2 #7 October 26, 2005 Heck, with you being right there at Z-Hills, it's not going to hurt to stop in and see Tony. Check out what he's got on the racks and maybe something will just jump out at you. Just make sure Tony has not had a few glasses of wine before he take your measurementsMay your trails be crooked, winding, lonesome, dangerous, leading to the most amazing view. Orange1 0 #8 October 27, 2005 I ordered mine while i still on student status too. I always knew i wanted to do FS, so choosing the type of suit was easy. Just make sure you get measured up and get advice on material etc at the store where they (should) know what they're doing - at the time i ordered i had no idea what a difference fit and fabric could make and in retrospect am very happy I got the right advice at the time... it could have ended up being an expensive mistakeSkydiving: wasting fossil fuels just for fun.
