Back to skiing after a 25 year layoff! What I learned

Recommended Posts

I went skiing today for the first time in about 25 years, and had an absolute blast! I did learn a few things though...

1) The newer skis are amazing, and turn so much easier than the old planks I used to have!

2) The balance and reactions came back to me pretty quickly

3) I had to 'unlearn' the old way of turning and let the new skis do the work

4) No matter how often you flash (man-boobs) at the lift operators you get no extra altitude

5) I seriously want to go again soon! I had a blast!

I tried snowboarding last year, and I have never been so sore and bruised in my life! It totally looks like fun, and I plan on trying again very soon!

i tell you a secret now: when i started snowboarding i did a week course. i think after three or so days, i went to the slopes with a cushion stuffed into my trousers.. :)

i dont know if you know the brand, but i also bought a pharmacy empty off the dul-x they've had. some stuff to sooth your muscles.. :)

yea, the new skis promise to be fun! :)
