happythoughts 0 #1 January 12, 2007 We are going to have a Mad Skillz scavenger hunt. If people have been in the sport for 3+ years and posted here, many have started out with some solid self-belief. "Dude, I can swoop at 52 jumps. You don't know me. I have Mad Skillz. My penis is enormous." So, 3 years later, did they fracture an ankle and quit ? Or continue on and have 300-400 jumps ? We need to find their posts. Post a quote and link to this thread. The possibilities for humor are endless.

skinnyshrek 0 #8 January 12, 2007 most of them get ast the point tehy hit 500+ jumps and think they are invincible, they are perfect candidates because they start downsizing faster 12 years in the sport i have seen about 9 femur breaks 3 bounces one about 300 ft and some othe rstuff...ZIt never gets old...The only thing that gets old is the arrogant newbies thinking they ar differenthttp://www.skydivethefarm.com do you realize that when you critisize people you dont know over the internet, you become part of a growing society of twats? happythoughts 0 #9 January 12, 2007 Most of the aggressively adventurous types that I know, just scuffed themselves up a little. After a broken ankle or scrapes from jumping barefoot, they decided that the sport wasn't as interesting. For a while at Zhills, we did have a "next chop" bingo board for a local. He was aware of it and tried to convince us that we were not being fair.
happythoughts 0 #10 January 12, 2007 At the most memorable femur, the guy actually asked Johnny, "Hold my camera, my swoop is going to be cool." (He missed the pond initially, but managed to bounce into it.) The most recent was a friend who was a stand-in for a 4-way team member one Saturday. First jump, low hook, bam. One day at WFFC, I personally saw 4 people do landings that required a stretcher. All of them doing cool stuff. Swooping the camping area, impacting side of the beer truck, almost hooking into the spectator area, and the one who ripped through the organizer tent. happythoughts 0 #12 January 12, 2007 In 2003, I was spending time with a local who worked in the food tent. Every time that an ambulance went to the EMT tent, she would go over to see if it was me. When I took a friend with a broken/mangled finger there, he called me Bill and the guy looks at me and says, "You're him? Could you talk to that crazy blonde chick? She's here 4 times a day." freeflir29 0 #13 January 12, 2007 People kept telling me I was in that category of stupid newbie. I haven't broken anything yet. Although I did bounce off the pond last summer. That was more due to lack of currency than anything else. Hopefully I will stay safe. Because of my lack of currency I won't be downsizing for several years to come. freeflir29 0 #15 January 12, 2007 QuoteDUE to lack of currency as Dumbarse? When you swoop the pond 20+ times and bounce off it once. Your unhurt and walk away having learned something. No......I consider that a small mistake that most people make at some time or another if they choose to do high performance landings. You on the hand............. happythoughts 0 #21 December 30, 2008 Quote You've been reading the General Skydiving forum today, haven't you? Well, in all fairness, I was warned. You know me well. So what did I do? I was doing that again today, a year later. What do I find? Someone with Mad Skillz. I have come to accept One-person stupidity, like swooping at 300 jumps and femuring next to the pond. (We still have the video because Dave wanted his "cool" landing recorded with his camera.) So, today we have another future Scavenger Hunt candidate. A one-sided conversation of experienced jumpers saying "stop that"... and the future candidate saying, "...but dude, you don't understand, I have Mad Skillz." That's quality. You rarely get a totally one-sided thread.
