happythoughts 0 #27 January 7, 2009 The local plan They are just going to pull you over and check everything until they find something to fine you for. Let's just torch the page about "unreasonable search". QuoteJanuary 06, 2009 The Florida Highway Patrol announced today that it will conduct random driver's license and vehicle inspection checks throughout Pasco and Hillsborough counties this month. Troopers will look for bad brakes, worn tires, defective lights and other vehicle problems that pose a danger to drivers, authorities said. They'll also seek out drivers who are breaking state license laws. "random" Ummm...right. "Troopers will look for..." Whatever costs money. Or maybe that additional "voluntary" car search. QuoteThe FHP chooses different counties and areas to conduct inspections, depending on how heavy or light trooper staffing is during a particular period of time. Troopers typically find a safe place on a certain road, FHP spokesman Sgt. Steve Gaskins said, and they flag down drivers during daylight hours. "Heavy staffing" is the current euphemism for "over-staffed" during budget-cutting times. Quote"We don't have an annual vehicle inspection like other states do, so this is a way to make sure people are driving safe vehicles," Gaskins said. Sure. You are comparing private companies taking photos in public, with being stopped and searched by LEO's without probable cause???"There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. happythoughts 0 #33 January 7, 2009 Quote Hey, if you done nothing wrong you ain't got nuffink to worry aboutWhat? What? ......... Just sayin Hence the problem. I follow the principle of "self-regulation". Basically, whatever I want to do is ok, as long as it is fun. Simple. For some reason, I believe that "suspicion" is not the same as guilt or evidence. The only thing that I get suspected of, is being poor. I should be able to ride around in my '91 pickup (primary color - Bondo) without being stopped on the basis that I'm not rich enough to cause trouble. If you knew the local geography, then you could look at the places where they plan to hold these "stops". None of them are in Tierra Verde, where lawyers live in $2 million homes, and would give them unending crap until the end of their very short careers. skyjumpenfool 2 #34 January 7, 2009 This will end up like the radar companies... First, they produced and sold radar guns to police departments. Next, they produced and sold radar detectors to us traffic woofos. Then, they produced and sold "new" radar guns to the police that were, "not detectable" by the radar detectors. And, of course, they then produced and sold "new" radar detectors to us which would detect the "new" radar guns. And so on, and so on... The only thing I can say about all this is "Why didn't I think of it"?Birdshit & Fools Productions "Son, only two things fall from the sky."
