RALFFERS 0 #1 January 12, 2009 This is not really a vent - all I wanted to say is that I wish people would give me the courtesy I give them and leave feedback in a timely manner. In my mind a transaction isn't complete until both parties have left feedback. I really do my best to provide anyone I sell to great service; I scan receipts from the post office and e-mail it to the person, I return communication almost always immediately, etc, etc... I recently had a situation where FedEx had misplaced a package and as a result it took an additional week to deliver; luckly the matter was resolved without further incident. In the meantime, not only did I do all the above, as always with this buyer, but I made sure to be the 1 keeping them up to sipped on what's going on; I even made sure my contact person at FedEx called the buyer personally to reassure them that the problem would be resolved - and it was. It has been 3 days since the package has been delivered and still no feedback has been left for me. I'm not really upset, but the feedback is important because it reflects your reputation on the site as everyone knows , and thus it either helps or hinders your continued success. Although I have a score of 30 and have 100% positive, that's still not much - and so every little bit helps.Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of
futuredivot 0 #2 January 12, 2009 Is there that much of a market for pre-bitten pillows? Not a big ebay person-did a couple of "buy it now"s but I don't think I left feedback. I don't call McD's and let them know they got the order right either. To me it's just a straight transaction, not a relatoinship. You are only as strong as the prey you devour
Thanatos340 1 #3 January 12, 2009 Feedback is optional. I buy (and occasionally sell) a good bit on ebay. There are many times when I do not leave feedback. If a SELLER requires that I leave Feedback before they will give me feedback.. I will not bother at all. I feel that as a BUYER, I pay and then they ship.. They should leave feedback first as my obligations are met first (Send the money in a timely manner). If they refuse to do that, no matter how smoothly the transaction goes, I will not leave feedback at all for them (Unless it does not go smoothly, in which case I will always leave neutral or negative). Other time, Like around Christmas when I buy a lot of smaller items off ebay.. I just dont have time to (or care to) leave feedback.
NWFlyer 2 #4 January 12, 2009 Did you ask for feedback? Sometimes that's all it takes - I usually don't remember to leave feedback unless a seller requests it. It'd be pretty easy to do - send a quick message saying "Hey, just checking to make sure everything was as you expected. Can you take a few minutes to leave feedback on the transaction?" (and provide a link)."There is only one basic human right, the right to do as you damn well please. And with it comes the only basic human duty, the duty to take the consequences." -P.J. ryoder 1,590 #5 January 12, 2009 Get used to it. I have a feedback score of 231. I've probably been involved in ~500 transactions over 10 years, both as buyer and seller. About half of them don't leave feedback. Fuggeddiboutit. Edited to add: Now that you mention it, I have four items on eBay right now. If you buy something, I promise I'll give you feedback. As soon as I receive payment and start shipment, I send the buyer a message letting the buyer know that the goods are on its way, feedback for the buyer has been posted and that I would appreciate feedback on the transaction. A couple of days after the items are supposed to arrive, I check with the buyer again to make sure everything arrived as promised and again let them know that feedback is greatly appreciated. RALFFERS 0 #7 January 12, 2009 I did leave the person feedback, and I also asked him in politely in a quick message to do the same for me. Yoder, you're right, I should get used to this. It's just that when i don't get feedback I sometimes take it personally and feel that I did something wrong - when really I tried to do my best to satisfy the person. Like in this case, I was in constant communication and would often be the 1 to initiate communication so the person was at ease, knowing that I haven't forgotten about them since I got their money.Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

Yes, I always ship immediately and send them an email with the tracking number. If for any reason I can't ship immediately, I always tell them what day it will be shipped. I certainly wish the sellers I buy from would show the same courtesy. And don't even get me started on the unbelievable shitty-ass packing I have seen as a buyer..."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Thanatos340 1 #11 January 12, 2009 QuoteAnd don't even get me started on the unbelievable shitty-ass packing I have seen as a buyer... And the ridiculous "shipping charges". I understand a reasonable "Handling” charge and cost for packing in addition to the actual shipping charges but anytime I see a $1 item with a $20 shipping charge, I already feel I am dealing a dishonest person and will avoid buying from them even if $21 is a reasonable price for the item. Cornholio 0 #12 January 12, 2009 I usually don't remember to leave feedback until the next time I go to Ebay or the next time I purchase something - which could be a month or two at the longest. I'm not sure what the big deal is -- delayed or no feedback at all sure is better than negative feedback. The feedback system is really starting to go downhill in the last year or two, so it's not a big deal to me to leave or receive feedback in a timely manner. Just as long as it's not negative, I don't give a shit. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! People were doing that so when you sorted search results as "lowest price first", they would show up at the top. Ebay recently stamped that out by changing the search option to "lowest price + shipping first", so there is no longer much reason to do it."There are only three things of value: younger women, faster airplanes, and bigger crocodiles" - Arthur Jones. Thanatos340 1 #14 January 12, 2009 The other reason so many people used to do that was Ebay didnt charge their cut on the shipping so it would reduce the fees the seller had to pay.. Either way, It was a clear indicator that you were dealing with a dishonest person in my opinion.
RALFFERS 0 #15 January 12, 2009 I hate it when people are dishonest (who doesn't really?...) When I ship things, because I send the receipt its always known what everything costs. On occasion, when I spend less than what was anticipated for shipping I just refund the extra money right away.Dialogue/commentary between Divot, Twardo & myself - "from your first Oshkosh when the three of us were riding to or from one of

chiquita24 0 #17 January 13, 2009 This bugs me too! I have decided to not leave feedback until it is left for me. It does help asking some people and I almost always check a week after I shipped the items to make sure that everything arrived ok. I also hate how ebay took away the neutral and neg. feedback for buyers. I've had some not so great experiences lately and I think sellers should be allowed to give honest and accurate feedback.
