I've had a great time at the Boogie in Mesquite, even if it was a little too breezy. I'm not real fond of my parachute trying to take off with me after I land most every jump. Got to see lots of friends that I didn't know were going to be here and made lots more. Met jtval and millertime24. I know too much math to gamble much, but I did come out $70 ahead on penny slot machines.

6 jumps on Saturday. 24 jumps since last thursday. Last 4 jumps were on a Sabre2 210. Stand-up landing 3 out of 6 times. Or should I say, stand-up/stumble/stand-up landing?

No other upjumpers around, so caught the empty slot on student loads. 7 grand free fly, 3500 h&p, and a tracking dive with one of the instructors from 8000. All in all, much fun, for January!

Finally got my ass back up in the air for jump number 100. Jumped an Omega 209 canopy from Square One for the first time, since I decided to upsize from my Spectre 190 for my first time back in the sky since WFFC 2005. It was a great canopy, although I'm not sure upsizing was the right choice. It made me feel more comfortable, which was good, but when I turned into the wind for final, I got no forward drive at all and sank straight down, which made standing up the landing difficult. Winds were at about 10-12 mph. I think I'm better off on my Spectre for my next jump.
