BillyVance 35 #29 January 22, 2009 QuoteBut it is legal, They have the Bunny ranch out in nevada right. Wonder how they get by with it when no one else can. That is about the only area where it is legal in the U.S. as far as I know. Prostitution is policed at the local, county and state-wide level, depending on where you are. I may be wrong. I'm guessing because Las Vegas was the brothel capital of the USA at the height of its gambling economy, that it made sense for them to allow certain places to remain open with certain guidelines they had to follow. Reno and Winnemuca are two of several towns that have legal, controlled red light districts.

billvon 3,109 #36 January 22, 2009 >it is only legal in brothels that are registered with the state. Right, and I'd add that it's only legal in counties with populations under 400,000. (It's also legal in Rhode Island, but you can't operate brothels or pick people up on the street.) OTOH if you videotape it it's legal in most places, because it is then pornography which is protected under the First Amendment.

happythoughts 0 #38 January 22, 2009 Quote Quote It is interesting that the product can be given away legally. But it becomes illegal when it is paid for. Unless there is a camera, then it's porn. It depends. If it is Nicole Kidman and she is doing everything with a penis, like in Eyes Wide Shut, then it is "art", not porn. In EWS, they had elegant costumes. If it had just been the pizza guy showing up, then it would have been porn. Apparently, art critics don't like pizza. Surprising because so many of them are middle-aged chubby guys. You'd think that a movie with pizza would be two thumbs up.
