Will They write me back??

Marriott sent me a survey to fill out on my recent stay here's my comments. I wonder if I'll hear from them.

Note that all excellent ratings were staff driven. The level of courtesy and professionalism from every staff member that I interacted with, even just passed in the hallways was outstanding. I did not feel that Marriott offered me the best value for money spent. The self parking fee is outlandish. How do you justify thirteen dollars a day for internet access that even Holiday Inn Express offers on a complimentary basis, or eighteen dollars for a breakfast with food quality on par with Hampton Inn's free bar and presentation slightly better than what nine dollars at Denny's provides. With all of us road warriors facing budget reductions and closer oversights, it's tough to absorb Marriott's policy to nickel and dime us to death.

So...yer bitchin' about spending the company's money to:

~ Park...put it in street and walk 1/2 a block fat ass, the exercise would do ya some good.

~ Net surf...all ya do it look at porn 1/2 the day, AND we @ dizzydot won't miss yer hand-less BJ comments OR all the anti BV dribble.

~ Food...18.00 may seem like a lot to some, but I've seen ya eat!

My last experience staying at Marriott for a week was OUTSTANDING!
I even got invited to the employees picnic.
Of course hooking up with the front desk clerk may have influenced my memories.:ph34r:

It just seems that the more I pay for a room, the less I get for my money. I'm big on Hampton Inns. Clean, comfortable, a good work space-that's all I need. I would prefer a bar on site but it's not that big of a deal-the mid high chains (I don't stay in high end place) are as bad as airlines as hiding prices as fees.

I'm with ya on that - it seems that the Marriott/Sheraton/Westin/Hilton level places feel like they can get away with the nickel and diming because much of their clientele is business travelers and can expense stuff.

I have a theory that the internet access charges are because they're still trying to pay off all the money they spent to put in high-speed infrastructure back in the days before wireless ... the lower-range hotels/motels just threw in a couple wireless routers and can give it away free.

I much prefer a small family run hotels, they tend to be more friendly and you don't wake up in the morning in the same type of room and wonder where on earth you are. These chain places are all clones and a touch boring - clean but dull.

If they don't write you back, they're not very good at "customer service". Why provide comments cards if you're not going to address the comments you receive?

I work in a Conference Centre at the UofA (we have meeting rooms and guest rooms and rent out the dorms in the summer months).

When we receive comment cards and evaluations back with good and/or bad comments, and the client has provided contact info to us, we reply to them.

They've taken the time to let us know what went well and what didn't. We, in turn, take the time to let them know their comments are appreciated. These comments are how we improve OUR service to clients.

I hope you do hear from them. If you don't, I'd recommend finding somewhere else to stay, and letting Marriott know you've done this because they didn't address your comments.

How many times have you stayed at a Marriott?

It was an event at the hotel set up by my customer, I didn't get a vote and it was not practical to stay somewhere else and commute in (I looked in to it)

Is this the main Marriott brand? I've stayed at a few Courtyard Marriotts and thought they were nice. One time my wife was washing her hands in the sink and her engagement ring came off and disappeared into the drain. It's an 80 year old heirloom with a distinct diamond cut you don't see anymore. It wasn't long before their resident do-it-all maintenance man came by and took the drain pipe apart to fish it out. We even got the deaf-friendly room, complete with TTY phone, door flasher, phone flasher and bed shaker alarm clock.

I'd stay at one again. Maybe not the main Marriott if you say its that bad.
