jtval 0 #2 January 27, 2009 welcome to vista. I'm surprised they work at all. most hadware doesn't have drivers that support vista yet. Well, most of MY hardware. My photos My Videos
PhreeZone 20 #3 January 27, 2009 Anything made in the last 2 years has Vista drivers and most stuff in the last 5 years has some level of Vista driver out there. If your computer is older then 5 years then its time to upgrade if you want to run Vista Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
jtval 0 #4 January 27, 2009 Brand new computer. My scanner is old it still works so why would I need to upgrade? Oh, You mean upgrade to MAC. Good idea next time I will. I can not fucking wiat to get rid of this fucking OS. ...and everything MS relatedMy photos My Videos
PhreeZone 20 #5 January 27, 2009 If you bought a new computer and it does not have Vista drivers then something is seriously wrong. I would be interested in some details on it since the manufactor either royally screwed you or something is up since even my 5 year old sound card and video cards have Vista drivers. Mac's have some good points to them, if they meet your needs then more power to you. Windows 7 is looking really nice, better then Vista. It will be out at the end of this year/start of next.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

THE SCANNER IS OLD. the SCANNER does not have drivers. For a 4gb ram and a vista 64bitos the computer is way slower than I expected. Supposedly it has a labelflash (lightscribe) drive. But it doesn't work. I bought it brand new at circuit city.My photos My Videos
Twoply 0 #7 January 27, 2009 Yeah, ok highjackers. How about a little advice here? Honestly, Id expect that from a booty thread, but not about computers.
PhreeZone 20 #8 January 27, 2009 Look at a Process Monitor of the system, you might be having a driver resource conflict that is causing the USB root hub to become unresponsive. Try moving the Keyboard and the Mouse so they are not on side by side USB ports, that might clear up any resource issues.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
Twoply 0 #9 January 27, 2009 Shit, that cleared it right up. I think I'll just get my computer buddy over to fix it. I replaced his water heater last month so he owes me.

LOL. um one thing I still haven't tried, but I verified... If it IS a driver issue you can right click on the hardware icon and select "run as XP" I want to reinstall my scanner drivers and see if the will let it work on the new system. Seems they knew they were going to have issues so they built in a fix....the fix being resorting to the OS they were upgrading. AWESOME, Huh? (can you tell I am sick of vista?)My photos My Videos

NOT the cheap shit.. that does not come with its own drivers... and wants to use the GENERIC drivers in Vista... If the manual that came with your stuff is written in some kind of wierd asian engrish.... you might have a probrem. There are plenty of legacy devices out there that will not work with it.. BUT... DUDE... at some point you have to get some new stuff.

The drive doesn't work, or the lightscribe software doesn't work? I wouldn't expect a lot of 'casual' software to have fully developed 64 bit drivers - when you decide to go bleeding edge, you can't expect the same maturity of development from software providers - it takes them a while to catch up.Mike I love you, Shannon and Jim. jtval 0 #17 January 27, 2009 I'm not sure if its the device or the software. OP, SORRY FOR THE HI JACK. I used three different software programs so I would assume its the device. The Toshiba cust service told me that their LABEL FLASH will work on a LIGHTSCRIBE dvd. But I've had a few peopel tell me that it was wrong info. The software will not even allow me to select the Burn photo as label option. When I googled the drive not much info comes up.
