Amazon 7 #1 February 1, 2009 RIGHT.... I have to ask the Brits to help me out here. Which DZ's in the UK are the best bet for getting in jumps year round. ( yes I know the winter clouds suck.. I live in Seattle) I am making some plans for moving the to UK for a change of pace in my career and to do some further digging into my ancestors and since I do manage to throw my body out of an airplane from time to time this will be part of the decision on where in the couuntry I will be looking for a place to live as well as where to look for a job. Considerations.... a good vibe... plenty of people to jump with both belly and freefly... OH.. and I do like to go fast once in a while.... as in speed diving. IanHarrop 43 #2 February 1, 2009 I believe the answer to your question is... SPAIN All of my information is 2nd, 3rd, 4th or even 5th hand, but from what I hear the cost of jumping in the UK is very high. Apparently people use cheap flights to go to Spain from the UK to skydive. Might also be the case for someone exchanging dollars. A lot of DZs in the UK will frustrate you with poor efficiency if you're used to an American DZ which just sends the loads up non-stop. Hibaldstow (North-ish) is nice and efficient, but I can't say what kind of fun jumping scene they have at the moment, haven't been there for a year or two.Do you want to have an ideagasm? Remster 30 #6 February 1, 2009 Make it 100 miles north of London. There are several DZs around to pick and choose: Hib, Langar, Hinton, and I'm sure another that I cant recall. We really enjoyed Langar when we lived there, but its been 6 years. Nottingham is pretty close to Langar, but further to the others.Remster
Zep 0 #7 February 1, 2009 Definatly South West England, Netheravon, Dunkerswell and Weston on the green. All first class DZ's with a military taste, also cheaper than civvy DZ's Gone fishing
