Sounds you don't like to wake up to...

So this morning I awoke to a very unpleasant sound. I live on the first floor of a 3 story house. My car is parked beside the house just off of the alley way.

I was woken up by the sound of 2 chunks of ice falling off the 2nd floor roof, onto the 1st floor roof and then onto my car. I should have expected something like this to happen considering it's been in the 40s the last couple days. But when I walked outside and saw the size of the ice chunks I was grateful there was no damage to my car.

Attached is a picture of one of the chunks of ice. There were 2 that were pretty much the same size. I put my foot next to it so you can get a better idea of how big these chunks were.

thats nothing, i had ice blocks the length of my wifes car fall off our roof this weekend, it shook the whole house when if fell they were so large....as long as her car, and almost a foot thick...
