lekstrom10k 0 #52 February 21, 2009 In regards to a Cloud or Strato-Cloud packing big . If you had 8 hours to spare and a box of single edge razor blades you could de-tape one Then it would now fit into anything a PC would fit. You would the have a quart sauce pan full of 1 inch tape. As far as the floating pud on an SST the problem was solved by Dave Martell inventing the Marteldo. He came up with it at what now is Skydive Tecumseh in Michigan. This was also the DZ where John Sherman was jumping at the time. Dave might have been working for John at rhe time. Airtwardo caught the Stevens Lanyard on the student rigs. We bought everyones old Style-Maasters with the high mount risers to make reserve ride more tolerable. Also R-2s and then R-3s, of course pilot chuted steerable reserves. We were bad mouthed by the local competition with all the stolen T-10s and 24 flat circulars as to advanced for 1972 students. their own jump masters were jumping rags not even PC,s I saw a lot of Eddy Moshers big and swing wing jump suits in some of the photos so far in this group I had two back then and still have one left for old novelty jumps. Watching people putting on wing suits stirs up memories
airtwardo 7 #53 February 21, 2009 I picked one up cheap and looks to be in good condition. Soon should have a big enough container for the cloud to have a home. That sucker packs big. I still have that wonderhog at 'SD Slider's' place, had a 252 in it so a cloud should fit...Slider can ship it up if ya need it. ~ If you choke a Smurf, what color does it turn? ~
