rasmack 0 #2 September 26, 2005 Depends very much on when it was made and perhaps also on some options, so I would have a rigger inspect it to be sure.HF #682, Team Dirty Sanchez #227 “I simply hate, detest, loathe, despise, and abhor redundancy.” - Not quite Oscar Wilde... tcnelson 1 #3 September 26, 2005 mine has worked great for nearly 400 jumps. it's configured with a boc deployment."Don't talk to me like that assface...I don't work for you yet." - Fletch NBFT, Deseoso Rodriguez RB#1329
skybytch 273 #4 September 26, 2005 Pretty much any container built after about 1996 is freefly safe. Javelins have been on the market since the late 80's, so check the date of manufacture before buying. Things that make a container freefly "safe" - minimal bridle exposure, secure main and reserve flaps and secure riser covers. Don't freefly with an ROL (rear of legstrap) mounted throw out pilot chute; too much bridle is exposed.
dharma1976 0 #5 September 26, 2005 I have had no issues with my javelins over the 3 that I have had, I liek the odysseys a little more on the FF side, but mostly for comfort Cheers Davehttp://www.skyjunky.com CSpenceFLY - I can't believe the number of people willing to bet their life on someone else doing the right thing. bob.dino 1 #7 September 27, 2005 It can almost certainly be modified to be FF friendly. If in doubt, show it to an instructor or rigger at the DZ over the weekend. They'll be able to tell you in a couple of seconds if it's FF friendly, and if not, how difficult it'd be to modify it. edit: Some punctuation in your post would be nice . It's kinda hard to figure out what you're saying...

bob.dino 1 #9 September 27, 2005 Make sure you also check with an instructor that the canopies you can put in a J3 are suitable for you.
incode 0 #10 September 27, 2005 i have checked that i am able to jump a 170, the rig comes witha main stiletto 170 and pd reserve
bob.dino 1 #11 September 27, 2005 While you might be able to jump a 170, you're going to have a harder time persuading someone to let you jump a Stiletto 170. It's a high-performance fully-elliptical canopy. Chat to an instructor at the weekend, and they'll explain in much more detail... as well as giving you a go/no-go.
