Hey,we're in the medical field. Is it not mandatory that we NEED coffee on a continous basis?
If I could just get a large bore IV with a coffee drip at TKO i'd be alot better :P

I now have pretty normal hours but when I used to work 12 hour plus shifts I lived on hot dogs and coffee at work. I always made sure I made the coffee at work. Even went as far as pre making ziplock bags with the right amount of coffee so the coworkers who didn't know how much coffee to use couldn't screw up. Nothing worse than a bad tasting cup of coffee to ruin your day.

I did my workout and now I'm sipping my first cup of coffee. I put sweetner and flavored creamer in it and a dollup of sugar-free cool whip on top. I like to start my day with dessert.

sure thing..

coffee. EVERY morning...
home made, and on the strong side...B|
equal or sweet & low, and some milk.. and I'm a happy guy...:D.. I DO like the idea which skymama mentions, for that added treat...:D

i almost NEVER buy coffee at a starbucks, or a dunkin'donuts, or a fast food place...etc....

they never seem to taste very good...B|:(

ONE exception.....
Janines @ Z hills....:).. good taste, and a generous sized cup... muff muff muff...

My wife also enjoys the Java,,, and that sort of led me into making a potful each day...
but after morning hours,, i almost never have coffee, during the day, or in the evening...

( just finished the last bit , which was in my "Capt Kirk". coffee mug..) going for a refill now...;):)

I usually wait until getting to work to pour a cup of 'wake-me-up', but this particular (new time) Monday has me brewing a cup here at home instead. I'll need it for the drive. :S

I was looking at the Aeropress, something to bring to work for coffee, do you like it?

Definitely worth trying for the $25-$30 it costs.

It DOES use a fair amount of coffee (similar to the amount for the expresso you get at (gag) Starbucks)(this seems to be the biggest complaint), but it's quick and easy to use and clean up after.

Makes pretty good coffee, too - very similar in taste to expresso without the harsher taste from the grit/sediment that you normally get.

I just picked up an Aeropress - for one cup, this thing uses 3/4 the amount of coffee we'd normally use for 3 - 3.5 cups.

I usually drink 4-6 cups every morning... *ping*

That's surprising to read. When I went from using my typical drip coffee maker to a French press, The result was a much stronger, more flavorful brew using less coffee than I was previously using. (I've since learned to simulate French press style brew, coffee savings and all, with a regular drip coffee maker, which is very convenient when I'm at my parents house.)

I would have thought an Aeropress would be similar to a French press in efficiency, just without the benefits/detriments of a mesh filter.

It's a lot like a French press, but with a filter to keep the silt/fine grounds out of the brew. For a pot of drip, we use about 4 scoops and we get 3 to 3 1/2 cups out of a pot. One of the Aeropress scoops is equivalent to 1 1/2 of the drip scoops. The recommendation that comes with the Aeropress is to use 2 scoops. I just tried using one Aeropress scoop and the taste seems fine, so there's definitely room for adjustment and it gets the 'usage' down close to the equivalent of drip.

Things I like about it:
Easy to use - start some water boiling, remove the plunger and put the coffee in the main tube. Pour 180F (80c) water in to the "2" mark and stir for 10 seconds. Insert the plunger and slowly press the water through the grounds (20-30 seconds). Fill the cup with the rest of the water, add creamer and sweetener to taste. It took as long to type this paragraph as it takes to make a cup, exclusive of heating the water.

Easy to clean up - take off the filter holder and press the plunger through to eject the 'puck' of grounds. Remove the plunger and rinse the end of the plunger and the filter and you're ready for the next cup.

Things I don't like:
No easy way to store it - there's the main tube/plunger/filter holder, then a small cylinder that holds the extra filters, a funnel for the coffee and the scoop and stirrer. I haven't found a good way, yet, to get all the various pieces stored neatly.
