I just got word that Paul Lopez was killed in an aircraft accident. I don't have any details but I believe that his girlfriend was with him. I knew Paul but we weren't close-we do have a ton of mutual friends that will be hurting a bunch as the word spreads http://www.paullopezairshows.com/

A friend called to tell me that they didn't think it was Paul's girlfriend-we have no idea who the passenger was at this time. He was flying an MX-2-my favorite aerobatic airframe.

This sucks. I always enjoyed working him at Sun n Fun and watching him ring that plane out. The whole MX2 team are a great bunch of guys. He will be missed.

Divot, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend. I didn't know him of course, or even of him, but it sounds like he was very good at what he did & was also a good person. I hate to read things like this.
