Well my buddy has wanted one of these beautiful animals for years and hes finally in the situation to get one. Hes on his way back in the car now with her and i cant wait to get a picture of her.

The best part is i've pitched a name to him and hes liking it! Boadicea who was a hero from the very area we live.

Those are beautiful dogs! I have a few friends in Colorado that have them. One has the name "Rhodie"

The girls and I meet one regularly where we walk - fantastic, powerful dog (bitch actually) and has a great temperment...... wont go in the water with

Rhodesian ridgebacks are great dogs. Quiet, intelligent, protective, playful, strong, and good looking, they're probably my second favorite breed of dog (next to boxers). I've seriously considered one before, but couldn't handle the prey drive (had two cats, two rabbits, and two birds in the house).

They are great dogs.....watch out for that headbutt thing they like to do, they can really hurt someone with it. I know a guy who brought one over from Africa.

Had one myself for almost 3 years. My brother is a cop and they used to train the drug dogs out by my house. "Larry" started hangin' out with the drug dogs and finally started doing so well "hunting" with them that he was drafted. Damn druggies. He had a stellar career and died a few years ago. Great dog but be aware...if you want to play rough..they will play rough.

The one is of Sadie when she was a puppy. You can see her ridge really good in the pic. The other one is of Abbie. Her father came straight from Rhodesia.

I had a rescue for 16-1/2 years. Got her as a pup. She definitely had a mind of her own but was one of the most affectionate and protective dogs I've ever had.

It's a gift, I don't try to explain it.
