Do you like fast cars

Recommended Posts

I like going around corners. My summer tires are Bridgestone S-03 Pole Positions although I'm too frugal to buy a really fast car.

Try an Ultima GTR as a kit or turn-key setup. Basically a street legal GT prototype with 1970s can-am horsepower via large small block chevy V8s and price tag you can afford.

The factory now builds a 720HP normally aspirated flavor. Various other people have installed twin-turbo packages good for the chassis ~1000HP limits.

i can't honestly answer your poll, because while i like cars, and forced to choose i prefer F1 above all...

My favorite kind of "car" does all those things. Packaged into one amazing little machine...but it only has 2 wheels :P

Everyone is always talking about the Ariel Atom, but the fact of the mater is that the Lotus super 7 has been around for many years, and is a superior car. Weight is only 1100 lbs or less if using a lighter engine like a hayabusa, and weight distribution is a perfect 50 50. The atom is 1400lbs, and 40 60 front rear. The super 7 chassis was used to built the world's fastest 0-60 car (street legal) and used 2 kawasaki zx-12 engines. It did something crazy like 1.8 seconds or something.

OK, I'm sold. Now I'm trying to decide between Classic Silver, or Non-Laser-Reflective Flat Black.

I'm more interested in drag cars, but I can really appreciate stuff like the Atom. My goal is to build a more streetable version of my badass lawnmower. Basically like the Atom, but with a street bike engine.

Had the dog with me, so I didn't push it too hard. He doesn't like to be bounced back and forth across the seat.

I like cars that make the ground shake when they start. Cars that you can hear coming from 2 blocks away. Cars that are so damned loud that the cops look, and the sound isn't coming out of speakers; no need to put a stereo in cuz you'll never hear it over the sound of the motor. Cars that produce insane amounts of horsepower and deliver insane amounts of torque to the rear wheels. Without nitrous.

Yeah. Gimme 1960's GM-style American muscle. Cars that not only look mean but are mean. Big block V8's with lotsa chrome, four barrel carbs, ported heads, thumpety thumping cams, wide open intake manifolds and headers.

And I can never have one, for I like having a drivers license...

I knew you were cool for a reason!;)

Hi 1969,

:o Why who would have guessed?

The three cars that I should have kept:

1932 Ford 5-window coupe, had it my Senior year in high school. Yes, a real one.

1957 Chev black 2-dr hardtop, the 2nd one that I owned. I converted it from an autobox to a stick w/overdrive.

1965 Porsche 356C coupe. I built it to just below showroom condition.

My last great car was a 1997 BMW 840Ci; Google it to learn about a fantastic car.

Now if I had the money: Maclaren F-1

Just my preferences,

JerryBaumchen

I've had the pleasure to play at the MotorSport Ranch in Texas.... WONDERFUL time! Not just the speed but also the track. The Road Course is 3.1 miles long, is 40 feet wide, has 16 turns, off camber turns, high elevation changes, and is designed to be run either clockwise or counter-clockwise.

But on my bike ride yesterday, I came to a realization. It's not the raw speed that I like. It's the power. And a PERSONAL control of the power that I like. I have been called a bit of a control freak... and to some extent it is likely true. I like managing difficult situations. Fast cars, motorcycles, skydiving, challenging medical situations... all push me. I like fighting against that push.

So, yes. I like fast cars. B|

Cool I watched one of the videos from this website of a Porsche going around the 3.1 mile road course and it looked like a great place to play.

I'd love to get into racing or do one of those race day things.

Trying to slow it down on the street though as lawyers to get out of tickets to avoid insurance increases get expensive quick. :P
