And power tools like a drill, table saw that I used for crown molding installation, sander and other stuff I can't think of right now. Lisa, I have vice grips that I bought when I got my first apartment. And not those tools with the pink handles either. Always be kinder than you feel. gearless_chris 1 #11 March 28, 2009 I have a body hammer that I bought for my first try at bodywork in 1986, it's my second favorite tool. My most favoritest tool is my old stick welder. Grandpa got to bring it home with him when he retired from Bohn Aluminum. My dad got it when grandpa died in 1983, then he gave it to me when I bought my first real house."If it wasn't easy stupid people couldn't do it", Duane. My momma said I could be anything I wanted when I grew up, so I became an a$$hole.

DavidB 0 #14 March 28, 2009 Quote So how do you break a pair of Vise Grips? Yea! How!?! I'll tell you how: Either it's not a real VICE GRIP® brand tool or it's too small for the job (about 4" over-all). My new favorite tool:When the only tool you have is a hammer, every problem looks like a nail.

DavidB 0 #18 March 28, 2009 Quote The spring broke. They're old. Some of us wouldn't consider that broken. After all, they'll still function as intended, right? 10R, good sized. I have an assortment of "real" & "junk" ones myself. For some reason people don't want to be near me when I don my welding attire, so I use assorted sized & shaped "mechanical fingers" to hold things instead. JohnMitchell 16 #23 March 28, 2009 Probably just replace the spring. I've got a pair w/o the spring, but you can still use them. You just have to hold that little lever in place while you tighten them.
jimmytavino 16 #24 March 28, 2009 i always carry a pair of baby vise grips in my pocket,,, they open up to 3/4 inch , and are handy as hell. also have carried a victorinox knife, since forever,,, as for your angle stop, better to use an open end wrench,,, cause when you bite down on the part, with the vise grips,,, that tool can crush a compression fitting,,, making it alllll the MORE difficult to turn... good luck jmt
