wilcox 0 #1 September 16, 2005 I want to get ideas about training harnesses for practising emergency procedures. How do training harnesses at your dropzone simulate different parts of the skydive? (i.e: Freefall - what kind of way is the student held horizontal Pulling main - how is the change to vertical simulated, how are malfunctions simulated? Cutaway - are pull forces simulated? how is the back-to-freefall simulated? Pulling reserve- are pull forces simulated? how is the opening simulated how are mal functions simulated? Steering - how is steering simulated? General -how is height loss simulated?)
DBCOOPER 5 #2 September 17, 2005 could you send me some of that stuff?Replying to: Re: Stall On Jump Run Emergency Procedure? by billvon If the plane is unrecoverable then exiting is a very very good idea.
MB38 0 #3 September 17, 2005 Quote Freefall - what kind of way is the student held horizontal By laying down on a creeper Quote Pulling main - how is the change to vertical simulated, how are malfunctions simulated? Change to vertical is not simulated. Students stand in a harness with all handles in the appropriate locations. They pull and a picture of a problem or mal is held in front of them. They take the appropriate action in the rig. Quote Cutaway - are pull forces simulated? how is the back-to-freefall simulated? Pull forces are not simulated... the handles are attached with old velcro. There is no back-to-freefall simulation. Quote Pulling reserve- are pull forces simulated? how is the opening simulated how are mal functions simulated? The D handle is in its pocket with old velcro. Nothing else is simulated. Quote Steering - how is steering simulated? The harnesses that students stand in have toggles which are attached to weights. Quote General -how is height loss simulated?) It's not.I really don't know what I'm talking about.
