skymama 37 #1 April 1, 2009 My son turned 18 today. My baby isn't my baby anymore, he's a MAN. Geez, those years went by fast. I am now the mother of 2 adults! The downside is that I don't quite know what to do with myself without having children to raise. That has been my main focus in life for the past 20 years. They need me, but they don't need me anymore. The upside is that I don't have to worry about setting a good example anymore, right? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

jimmytavino 16 #12 April 1, 2009 be happynot sad...If your kids are safe, healthy, happy and well adjusted.... then YOU did a fine Job.. ( Hey !!! how did the soccer match(es) go???) The more Important question,, NOW is,,,, When is he going to make a tandem Jump???, where YOU can dock on them???? OR has he ALREADY done that?? Children will ALWAYS "need" their parents,,, IF the parent(s) have done a correct job,,, during the chiildhood.... and.. NEED, is not the same,,, as. "will have to be supported by",,, It means that They understand responsibility, Know what hard work is, and can always go to Mom or Dad, for advice, for counsel, and to share accomplishments... signed a satisfied Dad... jmy P.S> How can someone who LOOKS like she's 27??? have two kids who are over 18??? airathanas 0 #17 April 1, 2009 I still call my Mom about stuff - doing taxes, advice about work, etc... I will ALWAYS need my Mom, it doesn't matter what age I am!!!! Be thankful that you are able to see your son turn 18; not every parent gets to do that (either b/c something happened to the parent or to the child). http://3ringnecklace.com/

skymama 37 #23 April 1, 2009 Quote When is he going to make a tandem Jump???, where YOU can dock on them???? He's already done a tandem and we did dock, which was a feat in itself since my belly flying skills are a little rusty! Thanks for the compliment Jimmy, and the well wishes from everyone else. He really is a good boy young man; Captain of the soccer team, 4.0 GPA, was accepted to 2 college soccer programs (he's still finalizing where he wants to go), is the kind of guy who would help an old lady cross the street and still isn't embarrassed to kiss his ol' mom in public. Turtle, now that you're smoke-free I'll be right over for that hug. And Lucky, that's just wrong!
