I hate days like this

Recommended Posts

I was supposed to hang out with a friend, and dig around a junkyard for parts for his car. However he flaked out on me.

Was supposed to see a movie tonight with a friend, but she flaked out on me.

I hate days like this. Too windy and too cloud to jump today.

On a good note I did get my windows tinted today.

Undependable people.

If you take the time to plan something and then they
"flake out" on you, keep that in mind next time.

Those types get thrown into category B.
They make the plans next time.

There are times that I get 10 people to say that they
will be somewhere and only 6 show up.
Next time, only 6 get invited.

I give the person the benefit of the doubt the first time they flake out on plans. You never know if there is a justified reason for it. If they do it again I no longer will make any plans with them. It isn't that hard to pick a phone up to call nor is it to hard to be honest and tell someone you are not sure if you can or can not make it when you are being asked to do something.

You would think so.

I used to organize stuff at work. I quickly realized
one thing - get their money up front.

I could get 14 people to agree to meet somewhere
for a pub-crawl event. 6 showed up.

8 people agree to do tandems? 3 show up.
1 does it.

Get six tickets for an event a week in advance?
Show me the money first.

Someone once said that organizing skydivers is
like herding cats with a stick.
It's that way everywhere.

People are dependable and courteous in different measures. It is pointless to expend a lot of effort
on the undependable and discourteous.

You should try organizing an SCR - Saturday afternoon - and everyone has done about 10 each.:|
I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama

The tandem thing? Sorry, but I'm not surprised.:P So many people say "Hell yeah, I'll do it!!" on Monday morning over coffee, but when Saturday rolls around they have to wash the car or wax the dog or something. :D Classic approach-avoidance conflict.

The ticket thing? Just had to sell a show ticket on the sidewalk Saturday for a daughter's friend who "won't make it after all.":S

Yes, different friends have different reliability ratings with me. I plan things accordingly. I don't waste my time waiting around for no-shows.:)

Thank you! Having a typical Monday after a long drawn out weekend, of watching over Emma. She had a bunch of seizures on Sat night, or what looked to me like seizures. :(:( The vet took some blood for tests, so we will see what they come up with. They are not sure what is was.

Man! I can relate to THAT!

You think that an SCR would be easy because nobody
could take out Bigun... not so. That skill exists.
:D

During SF 08, I didn't have much time, but you know that. All that responsibility landed on you.

Every time I dropped my gear and got back to the
tent, there was 10 people with tickets.
Amazing how busy I stay when I'm not doing anything. :D
