Fortunately, our part of the region is about an hour south of where the earthquake hit -- they felt it there but no damage resulted. Damn shame this happened, I was planning on visiting L'Aquila later this month when I go to Italy. Abruzzo is a beautiful place, but it's a seismic time bomb.
