I suspect the CYPRES on my "new" (i.e. first) rig that I bought from the DZO may "expire" (12 years + 9 mos from the Airtec website) around Aug of next year. I'll ask my rigger at next repack. bob.dino 1 #27 September 13, 2005 Just pull out the repack card - it should have the Cypres details written on it. No need to wait for a repack. edit: on a Parachutes Australia Talon 2, it should be in a pocket on the inside of the harness where it rests against your pectoral muscles, just above the cutaway handle. I'm assuming a Rigging Innovations Talon 2 has it in the same place.

It looks a little ambiguous to me. From a somewhat recent repack (last year or two), it looks like it either had an 8-yr, or was replaced.

PhreeZone 20 #32 September 14, 2005 At the top of the repack card it should list each part in the rig (container, reserve, and AAD if present). Also listed should be the serial numbers and the date of manufactor. Real simple to look at and determine when it was made. No need to involve a rigger to see when it was made. If it had its 8 year even 2 years ago you've still got 2 more years on it before its a paperweight.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com

Thanks for the 9 vs 3 correction - I just looked it up a few minutes ago to confirm on the cypres-usa site anyway. No, the owner wasn't really forth coming about specifics, he's a bit intimidating and I didn't press him, and he said "Oh, it's all on the cards." (not really - they weren't THAT specifc). Oh, and I sent hookitt some of the info and he said that it sounded confusing too. Again everyone, I'LL LET MY NEW RIGGER FIGURE IT OUT! Thanks. hookitt 1 #34 September 14, 2005 Yep. I agree with Elisha, the card shows that the 8 year was done 1 year late. Or, the CYPRES was replaced and not documented. I believe the 8 year was done 1 year late. Clay's a good rigger, he'll take care of it.My grammar sometimes resembles that of magnetic refrigerator poetry... bwilling 0 #36 September 14, 2005 Their riser, bridle, and pin protection is not well suited to freefly speeds and orientations... the subject's been discussed at length... do a search for 'freefly dolphin' in this forum for greater details...
