bozo 0 #26 March 10, 2009 QuoteBozo said to the effect "They made me intoa a miserable, short tempered jerk." Sorry pal you were that way before the pain. Any words of encouragement from your March 3rd appointment? Ok David.....only a friend would recognize my attributes. I am scheduled for another surgery 18 March with a bigtime neurosurgeon who is quite confident that the procedure will work.....in his words....."just cut out a little bone here ,a little bone there....easy". Yeah easy for him to say. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.
livendive 8 #27 March 11, 2009 You should wear that fat elvis suit when you meet him for the pre-op, and tell him you'll only destroy it if the surgery works. Hope this cuts down on the owies. bozo 0 #36 March 21, 2009 Just an update for anyone ho might have some interest in this stimulator , down the road someday. \ I had the surgery Wed. and all went well , the electronic leads are placed above T-12 in my thoracic vertebrae. The power unit, oddly enough looks like a small CYPRES and its installed in my left buttock just below the beltline , so for anyone that ever heard me condemn CYPRES in the past....I have a permanent one in my ass. The unit is very cool and it works well although i'm not getting much relief as yet do to the extensive surgery that was involved. Im afraid ths wont get me back in the air but it will give me back a semblance of the life I had . For all of you that offered advice and well wishes , thank you so much , i'll keep ya posted. Todak....I think I might just send you that Fat Elvis suit. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.
JerryBaumchen 1,466 #37 March 21, 2009 Hi bozo, It's the Second Coming of the Six Million Dollar Man. JerryBaumchen PS) I hope it helps; constant pain is no fun. I used to be plagued with kidney stones until a simple surgery took care of the problem.
riggerrob 643 #38 March 21, 2009 Back in my ill-spent youth, I did too many tandems with PD-360 canopies and fat Bavarians. When I herniated my first disc, therapists tried TENS and variety of drugs. The only thing that got me back on my feet was a million sit-ups and a few hundred hours of stretching to pull my spine back into correct alignment. When they doctor reviewed my injuries - from August's plane crash - he mentioned a second herniated disc and the onset of arthritis in my lower spine. He also suggested seeking another type of employment.
Pokerstar 0 #39 March 22, 2009 QuoteI had the surgery monday...it failed. It seems I have too much damage in my spinal canal to implant the leads. Next step is with a Neurosurgeon mar 3 to see if he can do anything. Nothing good came of this set of surgical drill holes unless maybe you count the Fentanyl. that was nice. Damn really sorry to hear that.Fortunately, I'm adhering to a pretty strict, uh, drug, uh, regimen to keep my mind, you know, uh, limber. --- The Dude ---

bozo 0 #45 April 10, 2009 One last post on the ANS stimulator. It worked well....kept my pain at half levels...then the staph infection set in. Just today I got home from five days in intensive care. Had an emergency to remove the implant. Needless to stay, I almost died. No one wants to talk about where the fault lies.....was the implant dirty or was it the hospital. The Dr says we can reinstall the ANS in 3 or 4 months , yeah right....in a pigs ass we will. bozo Pain is fleeting. Glory lasts forever. Chicks dig scars.
