floridadiver81 0 #1 April 23, 2009 Hello all. I'm posting this thread because I'm planning a trip back home to PA to visit some friends I haven't seen in over 8 years. I researched dz's in that area and Above the Poconos in Hazelton caught my attention. Can anyone that jumps or has jump there give me their opinions on this dz? I talked to them briefly and they seem like a really good small family dz but I want to get others opinions. Thanks in advance for any responses!"Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!! LuckyMcSwervy 0 #2 April 23, 2009 Are they a Skyride DZ? Come to Cross Keys instead! Always be kinder than you feel.
floridadiver81 0 #3 April 23, 2009 Nope. That's one of the first questions I asked! Ill come down there eventually. I'm going home primarily to see friends. The dz is just an added bonus."Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!! PhreeZone 20 #5 April 23, 2009 Darlene runs a fun DZ out there. I've got just under a dozen jumps out there, its a family DZ that was running a 182 and a 185 when I was there last. The DZ is on top of a mountain top so if you overshoot by too far you have to land in the valley.Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
BillyVance 35 #6 April 23, 2009 All I know about that DZ is that Don Kellner is the owner and Darlene is his wife. Don is either #1 or #2 in the world in # of jumps made. I think he's well over 30,000 now."Mediocre people don't like high achievers, and high achievers don't like mediocre people." - SIX TIME National Champion coach Nick Saban
floridadiver81 0 #7 April 23, 2009 Yep you're right. I talked to darlene today. She made it sound like an awesome dz with fantastic prices for student jumps which is what initially attracted me to it!"Age has absolutely nothing to do with knowledge, learning, respect, attitude, or personality." -yardhippie "Fight the air, and the air will kick your ass!!!
