Overall the evening was lackluster at best.

I'm only going to critique 5. The rest were forgettable for me.

Matt: The guy who did Coldplay but shouldn't have done Coldplay. I completely agreed with the judges. I expected much more from him. I'm hoping he makes it through to the top 12 based on his performance during Hollywood week.

Adam: The guy who performed 'Satisfaction'. Probably the best of the night and I think a shoe-in for the top 12.

Allison: The red-haired girl who sang 'Alone' stood out among the women. She's got quite a voice. She was not on par with Carrie Underwood's performance of 'Alone' back when she was competing (I actually watched her performance on youtube after the show). Fortunately for Allison, she won't be judged against Carrie. I found her also to be a bit awkward on stage but I think her voice is quite strong. I'd put her through.

Megan: I really think she did a great job. Tough song and she did it very well. Very pretty girl but needs to lose the huge tatoo. Deserves top 12.

Chris: The guy who sang 'Man in the Mirror'. This was the first time I recall seeing him perform. I don't recall his audition or Hollywood week. I was impressed. He started off rough but saved it in the 2nd half. He may surprise me and make it through.

I think I'm now up to 18 people for the top 12.

I'll be gobsmacked if Alison doesn't make it.

I'll be very surprised if Matt does make it...the Coldplay song he did was just a bad choice and didn't play to his strengths.

If Adam is top guy and I think he will be based on your review and others I've read then I can't see Matt beating Alison or Megan for the third slot.

Ok, I just finished watching the Satisfaction guy, and though I do agree it was a great, fun performance, there was something a little Tina Turnerish about it towards the end. And the beginning had a little too much of the half-lip grimace a la Elvis. But I like him a lot.

I agree with all of the assessments you gave. But I have to say, I have really hated the Norman guy, but tonight, he made me laugh. I enjoyed his performance.

Overall,though, this year is turning out to be pretty sucky for American Idol.

I missed Tuesday so only got to see who moved forward...Lil Rounds, Scott McIntyre (blind Guy) and Jorges from Puerto Rico.

Despite my fervent pleading they named Tatiana to the wild card group of 8. She didn't disappoint...crying, blubbering, annoying....likely just what the producers wanted.

Others in the group of 8: Megan Corkrey, Jasmine Murray, Matt Giraud, Anoop, Jesse Langseth, Ricky Braddy, Von Smith.

Some pretty talented folks in that group. Tomorrow should be interesting.

I started to watch it tonight but the sound was off. I can't stand seeing peoples mouths move and then hear voices after their mouth stops. Same thing half way thru last weeks too. I had to change the station.

I think Tatiana is completely ripped at all times on an enormous overdosage of estrogen...the world's most dangerous drug! See attached gif for evidence.

Vote for the Worst is going nuts over the possibility of her being in the Top 12. A couple of commenters over there make a reasonable case for her having a good chance as they figure there will be at least 2 women chosen to balance the gender split which is currently at 6-3 for the guys.

Tuesdays show was one of the absolute worst American Idol shows I have ever witnessed. (Besides Lil Rounds) She blew it out the box!... but the blind guy is getting alot of votes because of his blindness and being so nice (there are way better singers there than him but hes nice) But the dude with the lip piercings makes me want to go postal and I would say that there was only one good performance and alot of shitty ones.

I liked all the choices the judges made.

I wasn't too thrilled with the 17 year old black girl, She has a good voice but sounds so generic.

Megan, Megan, Megan!! OMG!!I so in lust with chick it isnt funny. I LOVE her voice and style. She needs to work on the moves a little but DAMN!! I would knock the bottom out of that in a heart beat given half a chance!!

Anoop.. He has the likability thing going and a good voice.

The other guy with the stupid hat.. Another Generic singer.

I agree they did pick the best 4 of the 8 tonight. Jesse...close, Von - not close, Tatiana - Doing a song for the third time killed her chances completely and the guy that did Superstition - too ordinary.

I think Megan is the most original and different of the top 13. I really hope she goes far....and, as you have noted...she's pretty easy on the eyes! I think there are a lot of guys that can sing as well as any of the ones left. Same with most of the women..Alexis and Alison being exceptions...but Megan seems to have her own style.

Tonight's show was probably the best '1st week of the finals' show I have ever seen. Almost everyone rose to the challenge. The few that fell flat were not trainwrecks.

My confidence in this years talent has been restored.

I'm really sorry I missed the first half of the show. I also found the sound was pretty bad....likely my system but I found it had way too much crowd noise. I'd have to say there weren't any definite ones to be punted of the singers I saw...some possibilities perhaps were Anoop and Jorges.

Megan is the most unique Talent they have had since I have been watching the show. Yes, Her "Rocking Robin" did suck and was completely the wrong song for her. She has a very unique voice and the potential to be great. Her quirky movements on stage are amusing to me and to say that she is easy on the eyes is an understatement. Out of everyone on the show, She is the only one that if she put a CD out, I would buy without a seconds hesitation.

I was glad to see Jorge go. He is better fitted to a Cabaret somewhere, not on Idol.

Jasmine could have been much better if she had another year or two on her. She was just not developed enough for the big time yet.

I personally think that Adam is overrated right now. His voice is just not that great. Yes, He has great stage presence and knows how to work the stage but the vocal talent is just not there.

The 16 year old rocker chick has great potential but unfortunately is just NOT attractive at all. I like her voice but that Hideous Dyed RED hair is terrible and her face looks a lot like my Neighbors Pug. She needs a better stylist if she is going to make it much further. She has the talent and she has the voice but she does not have a look that is going to help her.

Church Boy seems to really have it going so far and looks like this year’s winner right now. I loved performance the other night. Lots of great energy and a solid voice (But the fashion coordinated glasses are really starting to bug be, Does he really have a different pair of eye glasses for every out fit he owns?)

Anoop - Fun but little talent. This years Sanjia (Only Anoop is actually likeable).

Lil Rounds - Just another R&B singer. Nothing unique there.

Blind dude - Good guy, Sad Story, OK Voice. Be around for a while on sympathy votes.

Alexis Grace - Talk about a Spinner!! However I disagree that she needs to Slut it up. She is a beautiful girl with a lot of talent and a power house voice. I hope she stays true to herself.

Oil Rig Boy - Bland. Good guy story should keep him in a couple more weeks but not much past that.

The others are just filler far as I can see.

Now about Kelly Clarkson last night.. Speaking of stylists.. Hers should be executed in a slow painful way. That outfit was completely unflattering to say the least on her. She put on a few pounds which is no big deal but wearing a BLACK tight outfit that does nothing but scream "Look how fat my Ass is" was pretty bad not to mention the hair that looked like it hadn't been washed in weeks. She sounded great but looked horrible.

Agree completely. I think that with the right material Megan could put out a dynamite CD. Unique voice, different sensibilities. There are a lot of good singers in this group but there is nothing original/unique/earth-shattering about them to be interesting.

Unfortunately, even with Vote for the Worst supporting her, I think that unless she gets some really good material in the next weeks she will be gone fairly early.

Things I never want to see/hear again - Kanye West.

I agree with most of what you posted this week. However, I have a few major differences.

Megan = Bland! Her style, song, and persona is lacking all the way around. I just don't see how she even got into the top 13. And as an undertone, her dark tattoo is going to be really really ugly in middle age. If she tries to remove it the scar is going to be hideous as well. Just sayin' . . ..

Lil Rounds is incredible. Her voice, power and interpretation of the music is pure talent. She reminds me alot of Fantasia (who I also admire for her natural and incredible musicality).

My picks for the final 3 at this time are:

1) Lil Rounds - - Sheer Talent
2) Danny (your "Church Boy") - - Developed Talent
3) Adam - - Teen Idol Favorite (which this show is really about anyway, it seems)

I would agree with you if that Rockin Robin was the only thing I ever heard from her.

Lil Rounds is just another Urban Yodeler in my opinion. What would set her apart for any other Female R&B singer? yes she is good butif someone played the same song by 10 other different R&B singers and her, Would you be able to pick out which one was her? I dont think I could.

As for Adam, Not sure if you have seen the Pics that have been floating around but they definitely really hurt his chances with the teen girls. Even my daughter which had a crush on Adam since long before Idol (She had seen him in Wicked and went googly eyed then) completely lost interest when all the rather graphic pics of him making out with Men and the others with him in Drag (Also making out with men) came out. The teen girls I think are pretty turned off (Not because he is gay but they all have seen some pretty graphic pics by now if they went looking). It is hard for them to "Idolize" and have a crush on someone they were grossed out by.


Next week - Simon will HATE everyone. Why?

It is Grand Old Opry Week and Simon always hates County no matter who does it.
The Opry catalog is HUGE and it will interesting to see what each one picks.
I would love to see to see Megan do some Patsy (Or maybe some Marty Robins, I think she could put a great spin on his songs).

Danny's friend (the black guy) should be in the top 12 along with the other black guy who sung "Delilah" on the last show before the Wildcard show. Both of those guys were AMAZING singers. The one guys version of delilah was 10x better than the White tees version.

Jorge should have never made it.
Most of the girls should have never made it, Lil is probably the only truly talented singer out of the girls.

Nick (The flamer/Performer/dual personality guy) should have DEFINITELY made it.
